• Is a Texan version of 'Real Housewives' in the works? The producers behind 'Real Housewives of New York City' have sent out scouting emails looking for women to take place in the pilot of 'Texas Rancher Wives.' Yes, it's not branded with 'Real Housewives' right now, but it could be the working title to throw off potential participants who may change their acts. [Culture Map]
• Rob Riggle and Robert Smigel are teaming up for a new comedy project. Riggle has been tapped to star in the CBS comedy about a man who winds up working for the nerd he bullied in high school. Smigel is writing. [Deadline Hollywood]

Weezer Snuggie is no joke
by Danny Gallagher, posted Nov 3rd 2009 7:20PM
If you're a fan of the band Weezer and the laziness empowerment blanket the Snuggie and have been hoping for a way to combine the two, you're in luck.
Weezer fans might have been curious to know why the band was wearing the popular blanket during last Friday's Late Show with David Letterman performance. The band has not only released a new line of the sleeved blanket, but they also have their own legitimate infomercial that tells you how you can buy the band's new CD Raditude and your own "Weezer Snuggie." WARNING: After watching this video, the phrase "Weezer Snuggie" will not leave your brain for at least the next three hours. Viewer discretion is advised.

Introducing the Weezer Snuggie

Just a few years ago the phrase "Weezer Snuggie" would have made no sense at all. Heck, maybe it still doesn't make any sense if you say it a few times. It's like I'm hitting random keys on my keyboard. The band Weezer has actually made a deal with the people who make the Snuggie and created their own version of the robe blanket. That's Rivers Cuomo in the pic. He looks like a pregnant Bono.
Here's the original commercial for the Snuggie, and here's a review that the Consumerist did.

Simon Cowell to shake up American Idol - I've got some ideas for him
by Jane Boursaw, posted Aug 25th 2008 10:20AM
It's sad when you can't remember who won the last American Idol. Oh yeah, David Cook. And we're avid fans around this house, too. Simon Cowell probably remembers, but, apparently, he's as bored as the rest of us. In a TVGuide.com story, he says of Season 7, "I was a little bored ... I think [last season] the talent was great, and the ratings were great, I just think it could be more interesting and controversial."
That's why he plans to mix it up a little come January 2009, when he'll be taking a larger role in the show, perhaps compensating for executive producer Nigel Lythgoe stepping back to focus on his other show, So You Think You Can Dance.
Simon's not saying how he'll shake things up, but I have a few ideas:
Did Weezer rip-off South Park? - VIDEOS
by Jonathan Toomey, posted Jun 6th 2008 2:04PM
OK, let me start this off by saying that Weezer is one of my favorite bands and that I haven't stopped listening to their new self-titled "red album" since it came out on Tuesday. It's their best stuff in a long time. So what I'm about to say is more of an observation than an accusation.
Alright, so am I nuts, or is there a striking resemblance (or at least some obvious similarities) between the video for Weezer's new single "Pork and Beans" and the South Park episode "Canada on Strike?"
