Weight Watchers suing Jenny Craig over Valerie Bertinelli commercial
by Bob Sassone, posted Jan 20th 2010 5:00PM
If you haven't seen the recent Jenny Craig commercial that features Valerie Bertinelli in a lab, wearing an official-looking lab coat and touting the benefits of Jenny Craig over "the largest weight loss program" (wink wink), here it is. Weight Watchers is suing Jenny Craig for what they say is bogus medical information in the ad.
I hate ads that show someone in a lab coat or standing in front of a bunch of books. Ooooo, he's in front of a bookcase, he must know what he's talking about! [via Gawker]

The royal Fergie invited to dance with the stars
by Julia Ward, posted Dec 12th 2006 8:05PM
The former Duchess of York and Weight Watchers spokeswoman Sarah Ferguson has publicly stated her love of ABC's Dancing with the Stars, the American version of Brit hit Strictly Come Dancing. In response, producer Conrad Green has offered the affable redhead a place in next season's line-up. Green has said that Fergie would add a "touch of class to the proceedings" and suggested that a romance might spark between the ex-royal and her dancing partner. Sounds like wishful thinking to me. A British accent does not "class" make except maybe on American television so, alright, she might "class" the joint up.The implication of the announcement is that Fergie has accepted the invite, but royal watchers shouldn't get excited just yet. The word isn't official, and Fergie has a heavy schedule of waving politely and counting meal points.
