Martha Stewart Snubs Willie Geist and 'Morning Joe' (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Mar 10th 2011 6:30PM
Willie Geist, co-host of MSNBC's 'Morning Joe,' was a guest on 'The Martha Stewart Show' (weekdays, 10AM on Hallmark) Thursday, and Stewart pulled no punches saying what she thought of the show. As the two were in the kitchen portion of the studio, Stewart told Geist to his face that 'Morning Joe' was "not my favorite program."Geist seemed a bit nonplussed and asked why Stewart would say that. "I think there's too much talking over everybody," said Stewart. "I have to get facts."
Bill O'Reilly Hints He May Appear on 'Glee' (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Feb 25th 2011 3:15PM
On 'The O'Reilly Factor' (weekdays, 8PM ET on Fox News), Bill O'Reilly was critiquing a clip of Willie Geist, Ann Curry and Jenna Bush Hager dancing on 'Today' when he made a surprising revelation."I was on the set of 'Glee' last night," O'Reilly disclosed. "And after seeing those professionals, and that ... pretty frightening. And I want to thank all of the 'Glee' people for being so nice to us."
O'Reilly has taken shots at 'Glee' in the past, once accusing the show of indoctrinating the nation's youth with liberal values. And 'Glee' responded with an episode featuring a newsman character who seemed to be parodying O'Reilly.

Correspondent Jenna Bush Hager shows off the "soulful dancing" she learned while visiting the Stax Music Academy, and gives Ann Curry and Willie Geist a dance lesson of their own on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM ET on NBC)."Are you ready? We've got to have some MJ!" Hager said, calling for the music of Michael Jackson as she prepares to instruct Curry and Geist.
Man Jumps Barricade and Interrupts 'Today' Show (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted Feb 22nd 2011 9:45AM
A scary moment took place this morning on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM ET on NBC) when a man jumped the barricade while Meredith Vieira, Al Roker and Willie Geist, who was filling in for Matt Lauer, reported from outside.Although images of the incident weren't captured on camera, the man can clearly be heard storming the barricade that separates onlookers from the show's studio in Rockefeller Plaza in New York. Vieira shouts in surprise, and then the camera immediately cuts away to Ann Curry, who starts to read the news.
Joe Scarborough Compares a Heavily Made-Up Lindsey Graham To Ziggy Stardust (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Jan 3rd 2011 2:45PM
South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham was on 'Meet the Press' Sunday to talk about the fiscal issues facing the new congress. However, after viewing a clip of Graham's appearance, all 'Morning Joe' (weekdays, 6 AM ET on MSNBC), host Joe Scarborough wanted to do was discuss how much foundation Graham was wearing, comparing him to Ziggy Stardust, David Bowie's kabuki-make-up-faced character from the '70s."Willie, did you follow David Bowie through the Ziggy Stardust period?" Scarborough asked Willie Geist.
"I think I know where you're going with this," Geist responded, motioning toward his own face.
"(Graham) had more makeup on there than Bowie did during Ziggy," Scarborough concluded.
Mika Brzezinski then admonished the two of them for focusing on Graham's appearance, rather than what he had said. So they dropped it. However, Mika wasn't able to prevent 'Morning Joe's' producers from playing the song 'Ziggy Stardust' in Graham's honor.
Chuck Todd Is The First Victim Of MSNBC's New 'Lean Forward' Slogan (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Oct 11th 2010 4:45PM
As part of two-year re-branding ad campaign, the liberal cable news network MSNBC has begun using the tag line "lean forward."Savannah Guthrie, co-host of the 9 AM MSNBC political show 'The Daily Rundown,' appeared on 'Morning Joe' (weekdays, 6 AM on MSNBC) Monday, and it gave the gang an opportunity to have fun with the new slogan.
As Joe Scarborough reminded viewers to check out the 'The Daily Rundown' 'after 'Morning Joe' was finished, a promotional picture of Guthrie and her co-host Chuck Todd appeared on the screen.
"That's a snazzy shot by the way," Scarborough commented. "Sort of a prom picture."
"Chuck's leaning forward a little too much," Willie Geist quipped, in reference to how close the two anchors were standing to each other in the photo.
Something the tells us this is just the first of many, many "lean forward" jokes.
Sarah Palin Will Run For President as Tea Party Candidate, Predicts to 'Morning Joe' Panel (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Sep 22nd 2010 3:02PM
After viewing a television ad from SarahPac, Sarah Palin's Political Action Committee, the gang on 'Morning Joe' (weekdays, 6 AM ET on MSNBC) was unanimous in their opinion that the former Alaska governor will be running for president in 2012. Joe Scarborough, Willie Geist, Mike Barnicle and Harold Ford Jr. all agreed that Palin will take a shot at the White House. Norah O'Donnell then added a twist:
"She will run as part of the Tea Party, not as a part of the Republican Party," O'Donnell predicted.
However, it might be wise to take such predictions with a grain of salt. Since the media -- especially the cable news talkers -- would be the greatest beneficiaries of the madness that would surround a Palin candidacy, talking heads could be engaging in a bit of wishful thinking when they suggest Palin will run.
Christine O'Donnell's Comments On 'Mice With Fully Functioning Human Brains" Entertains 'Morning Joe' Panel (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Sep 21st 2010 4:55PM
Comments Christine O'Donnell made in a few years ago about mice with fully functioning human brains had the crew on 'Morning Joe' (weekdays, 6 AM ET on MSNBC) howling with laughter Tuesday morning."American scientific companies are cross-breeding humans and animals and coming up with mice with fully functioning human brains," O'Donnell argued on the three-year-old clip from 'The O'Reilly Factor.'
Joe Scarborough, who made little attempt to contain his cackling, had this to say about the clip:
"That wasn't from like 1984, that wasn't when she was on the satanic alter having her first high school date. That was like '07."
"How did that not make the papers, if there were mice with human brains," Willie Geist deadpanned. "It seems like we had heard about that."
"If it's just a mouse ... That's just like sitting in a cage. That's not as scary as a fully functioning mouse, with a human brain," explained Scarborough, who was so worn out from laughing that he started to get his words mixed up.
Novak Djokovic Quip About Between-the-Legs Shot Cracks Up 'Morning Joe' Crew (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Sep 3rd 2010 5:15PM
Neither Joe Scarborough nor Mika Brzezinski were on Friday's 'Morning Joe' (weekdays, 6 AM ET on MSNBC), but the rest of the gang still managed to get a little sexual innuendo in, via tennis star Novak Djokovic.Willie Geist played a clip of Djokovich hitting an amazing shot at the US Open, and then Djokovich being interviewed after the match.
"You hit an unbelievable backhand," the interviewer in the clip said, before wondering if Djokovich has "that tweener shot between the legs."
"No I have something else between my legs," Djokovich joked, much to the delight of the crowd at Flushing Meadows.
It also delighted the Morning Joe panel.
"Good answer," Geist complimented. "He didn't have room to return."
We think that may have been a reference to Djokovic's, um, largess. Whatever it was, Geist's quip caused Chris Jansing to crack up even more.
