Yes Man
ABC bringing reality comedy to America
by Danny Gallagher, posted Dec 19th 2009 8:08AM
Here's an interesting pick for the Alphabet network. ABC has ordered a pilot for British humorist Danny Wallace's upcoming book, Awkward Situations for Men, the story of his and his wife's journey through America as a British man trying to adjust to the American way of life.
It's an interesting choice because it's new territory for ABC and American television in general. Wallace mines humor in his books and shows from setting himself up in strange situations such as hunting down old childhood friends, challenging fellow humorist Dave Gorman to find as many people named Dave Gorman as possible and saying "yes" to every question for six months, the latter of which was remade into a movie starring Jim Carrey.
Think this will work in the states and if so, will see more of them?
