Kelly Ripa Embarrasses Zac Efron With Photo of His 'Reno 911' Halloween Costume (VIDEO)

by Stephanie Opella, posted Dec 7th 2011 6:40PM
Zac Efron stopped by 'Live!' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) to hang out with Kelly and her guest-host du jour, Josh Groban. As Groban ribbed him about his selection as one of People Magazine's Sexiest Men of 2011, Kelly flipped over a card to reveal a photo of Efron, but it wasn't the one featured in the magazine.

"Aw, that's not it," Efron groaned, as Kelly held up a shot of him with a mustache, cop sunglasses and hilariously tight shorts. "I did 'Seventeen Again' with Tom Lennon, who was big on 'Reno 911,' he played Lt. Dangle," Efron explained. "I didn't have a Halloween costume so I called up my boy and I said, 'Hey man, so you still have your old costume?' he said 'Yeah, man, I have the whole thing.'"

'High School Musical': Where Are They Now?

by Kim Potts, posted Jan 20th 2011 2:30PM
High School Musical
It was a mere five years ago, on Jan. 20, 2006, that 'High School Musical' hit the Disney Channel airwaves, making Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens the king and queen of the teen dream set, becoming the most successful movie in the cable network's history, nabbing a pair of Emmys and sparking TV and big-screen sequels, all along the way to becoming a true pop culture phenomenon.

You may have heard what "Zanessa" has been up to post-'HSM,' but, in honor of the original movie's anniversary, we're catching up with what the rest of the East High Wildcats have been doing ...

Nikki Blonsky Says That Zac Efron is "Hers" (VIDEO)

by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 4th 2010 2:52PM
The Wendy Williams ShowNikki Blonsky was on 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekday mornings, check local listings) today, talking about 'Charlie St. Cloud' star Zac Efron. Wendy asks her if she thinks that Zac and the relationship with his girlfriend will last, and Blonsky pretty bluntly says that it won't. Why? Because, well, she's the only girl for Zac Efron.

Someone should tell Blonsky that Efron is currently owned by the Vanessa Hudgens Corporation and they have the rights to him for a little longer.

Zac Efron Is Having Problems With His Crotch (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jul 30th 2010 3:30AM
Zac Efron Is Having Problems With His CrotchBeing a young, internationally famous singer, dancer, and actor would probably be fairly awesome. Except for the part where you get hit in the nuts.

Zac Efron is pretty popular. But on 'Lopez Tonight' (weeknights, 11PM ET on TBS), he showed up to discuss his role in the new film 'Charlie St. Cloud.' Unfortunately, part of his acting job during the film involved being hit in the crotch. With a baseball.

During his conversation with host George Lopez, Zac revealed that it only took one take to do the crotch-hitting scene. That's good. We'd hate to have to think about Zac being hit in the groin over and over again. Then, Zac moved on to discussing previous crotch troubles that he'd had in his past. This conversation involved the mention of a game that he played in high school, which involved hitting other people in the groin. According to Zac, this game was called "Sack Tap."

Zac Efron Dishes on His Strip-Club Visit (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Jul 29th 2010 5:40AM
'Jimmy Kimmel Live': Zac Efron Dishes on Strip-Club VisitAw, Zac's all grown up. He and two buddies -- including 'High School Musical' co-star Corbin Bleu -- visited a strip club in New York City on Sunday night. And though he's 22 years old, it was all over the news, given his squeaky-clean image from all those years at Disney.

Thanks, 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12:05AM ET on ABC), for getting the details. Actually, between all the jokes, who knows if anything Efron said was true.

When Jimmy Kimmel asked whether this was his first strip-club experience, Efron initially said no, then joked, "I'm cutting back right now. I'm trying to keep it between, like you know, three or four nights a week."

"I've heard a lot about these places -- mostly from rap music," he continued, joking that he'd imagined T-Pain and Usher would be there. As for the rumor that they spent $2,000, Efron said, "I don't think I opened my wallet."

And what did girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens say about all this? He dishes in the clip.

Zac Efron Ignores Contract, Goes Bungee Jumping (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Jul 21st 2010 5:50AM
Zac Efron Goes Bungee JumpingWhile filming 'Charlie St. Cloud' in Canada, Zac Efron broke the rules and went bungee jumping. He's young, he's rich, he's adventurous. What do you expect him to do on his days off -- stick to the golf course?

"You're under contract. You're not supposed to do that kind of thing," the actor admitted on 'The Tonight Show' ( weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC). "It was a lapse in judgment."

"A lapse in judgment? I'm not a judge!" replied Leno. "You said, 'Screw 'em, I'm going bungee jumping!'"

Check out the video for footage of his (rather graceful) dive of rebellion.

YouTube, Who Loves Ya Baby?

by Danny Gallagher, posted Apr 29th 2010 7:04PM
YouTube on TVThe granddaddy of viral video and the leading cause of productivity decline recently turned five years old. If you're don't know what I'm referring to, please steal a computer or better yet, develop some better comprehension skills. Your local community college is a good place to start on both.

YouTube has become a cultural staple, not just for the Internet but in almost every facet of the global consumer media. It's not only been copied, but it's also been utilized, rehashed, twisted and berated by every other media conglomerate in more ways than the left over parts of an IKEA furniture kit.

TV, of course, is no exception. Here is just a brief glimpse at the people and properties of Television City who loved and loathed YouTube, often in the same breath.

Right now on Cinematical

by Kona Gallagher, posted Nov 27th 2009 4:04PM
The folks at our sister site Cinematical are working hard to give you news and reviews of the best -- and worst -- the silver screen has to offer. Here are some of their musings on the latest blockbusters, indies, and everything in between:
  • There's a new website called Glyde that lets you buy and sell DVDs quite easily. Now you can get rid of all of those ill-advised Zac Efron purchases that you're hanging on to.
  • Viggo Mortensen is getting ready to star in The Road, the adaptation of the Cormac McCarthey novel. He has some crazy eyes in that movie, which could either be a big plus or a big minus, depending on your stance on the hotness level of dudes with crazy eyes. In any case, Cinematical has an interview with him.
  • I actually had no idea that there was going to be a fourth Shrek movie, but apparently it is, and it's titled Shrek Forever After. It's supposed to be the last film in the series... for now, at least.
  • I was never going to see Old Dogs, but the fact that I was forced to sit through billions of trailers for it while watching ABC On Demand makes me want to find every print and make a giant bonfire. A brave soul at Cinematical reviews it.
  • Fight Club is the film that finally made me love Brad Pitt. Cinematical rewatches it to see how it holds up after ten years.

Entourage: Security Briefs

by Jonathan Toomey, posted Sep 14th 2009 9:00AM
Zac Efron guest stars on Entourage.
(S06E09) "If that's a personal call you're on Lloyd, I'm gonna waterboard you." - Ari

Ari has always been mean to Lloyd. He treats him like crap, makes him do chores rather than his job, and constantly insults him. However, at the same time, Ari has always been nice to Lloyd too. He's given him one helluva job opportunity to learn underneath him and to some extent, I can understand Ari's plan to toughen Lloyd up a bit before a bump to junior agent occurs.

We know what Lloyd is like though -- he can only take so much. So it was only a matter of time before Ari pushed too hard. On a day when Ari stole Zac Efron from Adam Davies, there should have been a celebration and instead, Ari treated Lloyd worse that we've seen in ages. It's about time this plot went somewhere.

Zac Efron joins Entourage - playing himself?

by Jane Boursaw, posted Jun 4th 2009 9:00AM
Zac Efron in EntourageE!'s Watch With Kristen is reporting that Zac Efron will be joining the Entourage gang for season six. Well, maybe not exactly joining the gang, but at least making a cameo on the HBO show.

Ok, so the question is, will he be playing himself? One of Ari Gold's newest It-Guys? An excitable young actor who tussles with Johnny Drama? My guess is that Efron will be playing himself, because he's becoming the Next Big Thing in Hollywood -- if he isn't already there.

And it just makes sense, because so many other stars have appeared as themselves on the show; notably, James Woods, though I've always wondered if he's as hot-headed as they make him out to be on the show. If so, he has quite the sense of humor about himself.

Here's Bruno falling into Eminem's lap (and face)

by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 1st 2009 4:28PM
OK, so you might have heard that Bruno (aka Sacha Baron Cohen) fell from the sky last night at the MTV Movie Awards and shoved his rear into Eminem's face. Was Eminem really surprised and ticked off by this, so irritated that he and his crew actually left the show? I'm leaning towards no. You can see Eminem "acting" as he looks up (the camera just happens to be on him), and then Bruno lands on him perfectly. I guess it could be true, but I'm not quite buying it. The funny moment is when he announces Zac Efron the winner of some award and Efron isn't even sure what the hell is going on.
