Haters of reruns take note! The CW has heard your cries of displeasure and has handed out additional episode orders to some of its most popular shows.According to Entertainment Weekly, '90210' and 'Gossip Girl' have received two additional episodes each, putting their season totals at 24 episodes. 'Supernatural' and 'Nikita' got one additional episode, giving them 23 episodes each.
Sadly, 'The Vampire Diaries' did not received a beefed up season order, but that's to be expected considering the extra post-production work the show's considerable effects require.

ABC picks up Mick Jagger, drops Sons & Daughters
by Anna Johns, posted May 14th 2006 11:00AM
ABC gave the greenlight to two new comedies, including Let's Rob Mick Jagger, which is a single-camera comedy about a janitor and his friends who plan to rob Mick Jagger. It's executive produced by David Letterman. The original plan for the show was to rob Jeff Goldblum, but he's already busy with NBC. Jagger just recently signed on to appear in several episodes of the show that is all about robbing him.ABC also picked up A Day in the Life, which has different views of a couple's wedding day. How are they going to get an entire season out of this premise? I dunno, either. The network also renewed What About Brian? for a second season.
And, part-improv/part-scripted comedy Sons & Daughters did not get renewed for a second season. Creator Fred Goss (interviewed earlier this year by Joel) confirms cancellation on his website.
McDermott, Malick join ABC pilots
by Anna Johns, posted Mar 11th 2006 6:21PM
Lots of casting news
today in The
Hollywood Reporter. Dylan McDermott has joined the cast of the ABC
drama, A House Divided. It's about a rift between a midwestern farming community and the federal government. I
wish I knew more because, wow, that sounds like a snoozer. Sarah Clarke (aka 'Nina' on 24) is also part of the
cast. She plays the wife of the lead character, which might just be McDermott.Wendie Malick, of Just Shoot Me and Jake in Progress, has been cast in the ABC comedy pilot, A Day in the Life. The show is about a young couple's wedding day, from different points of view (I imagine it'll have to advance past the wedding day). Malick plays the mother of the bride.
