Aaron Eckhart's 'Marine Speak' Wasn't Up to Par During Training for 'Battle: Los Angeles' (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Mar 10th 2011 5:30AM
Aaron Eckhart on 'The Daily Show'To prepare for playing a Marine staff sergeant in his new movie 'Battle: Los Angeles', Aaron Eckhart went through a three-week boot camp administered by actual Marines.

As Eckhart told Jon Stewart on 'The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central), he had one bad civilian habit that the real Marines had trouble breaking him of.

"'My biggest problem was I called a helicopter a 'chopper,' okay. That's a big no-no in Marine speak. So [the Sergeant Major] would be sitting there and I would go 'get on that chopper,' [and he would yell] 'Cut!' He would come over like this, shaking, and say 'helo, it's a helo'."

Aaron Eckhart Broke His Arm Filming a Scene for 'Battle: Los Angeles' And Just Kept Going (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 9th 2011 3:47AM
Aaron Eckhart, 'Lopez Tonight''Battle: Los Angeles' looks like a film packed with action from beginning to end. Star Aaron Eckhart shared some of the action of shooting it with George Lopez on 'Lopez Tonight' (weeknights, 12AM on TBS). Sometimes the action of filmmaking can get a bit too real as when Eckhart broke his arm and kept filming.

"There was this beautiful fireball that was going up," Eckhart explained. "And I wanted to do a [Michael] Jordan through the fireball." He explained to the cameraman what he was hoping to make happen and everyone got ready.

"I went, slipped, fell seven feet onto my head, and my arm just goes crack," said Eckhart -- but he didn't stop the scene. Instead, he picked up the heavy object that was part of the scene and gritted through it.

Craig Ferguson Isn't Buying Aaron Eckhart's Story of a Rattlesnake Coiling on His Foot (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 8th 2011 4:13AM
Aaron Eckhart, 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson'You'd think Craig Ferguson would be a bit more excited about a rattlesnake story, considering his rattlesnake mug and snake tattoo. Alas, as Aaron Eckhart learned on 'The Late Late Show' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS), the comic can be a bit cynical at times.

He took that cynicism to new heights with Eckhart's story. Let's review the story.

"I was doing a movie in New Mexico. I was running up a slope or something. I bent down to get some breath, and there was a rattlesnake coiling on my foot."

Sounds reasonable, right? There are rattlesnakes in New Mexico. He could have easily disturbed one by running up on it. But that was enough for Ferguson to start calling shenanigans.
