Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence Talk 'Melissa & Joey' and 'Moonlighting' Potential
by AOL TV Staff, posted Jun 27th 2011 9:00AM
Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence already told us about the special guest stars making cameos on 'Melissa & Joey' when the show returns from its eight-month hiatus on Wednesday. (Vivica A. Fox and a Lawrence brothers reunion? Yes, please!)But if you can't wait until June 29 for your 'Melissa and Joey' fix, fear not. Both Hart and Lawrence had plenty to share about what's in store for their characters, politician Mel Burke and live-in nanny Joe Longo.
"It's a lot of the ups and downs. I think that the journey of the show is that any moment one of these people could either find a significant other and the relationship is over," said Lawrence. "Joe could get that opportunity that he's been waiting for to get his feet back on the ground and go make the millions of dollars he's used to making, and he's gone. I think that's where the show lives. There are several close calls when it comes to that."
Aria and Ezra Kiss in the Open on His Last Day on 'Pretty Little Liars' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 22nd 2011 4:47AM
The relationship -- or was it? -- between Aria and Ezra reached a climax this week on 'Pretty Little Liars' (Tue., 8PM ET on ABC Family). Throughout the episode, circumstances kept them from being able to truly talk about what was happening emotionally between them, so Ezra decided to do so in his closing remarks to the entire class."I didn't expect to connect with you the way that I have. I never expected to feel this kind of loss over leaving you," he told the class, but really Aria.
She nearly let him walk out of her life with those closing remarks, but decides she can't leave things like that. Luckily, she catches him just before he leaves campus and, throwing caution to the wind, plants a huge kiss on him right there in the parking lot.

by Catherine Lawson, posted Jun 15th 2011 9:12AM
The Series Premiere of 'The Nine Lives of Chloe King' (Tue., 9PM ET on ABC Family) introduced us to a new teen heroine in the mold of Buffy or Claire Bennet.Chloe King (Skyler Samuels) is just an ordinary teenage girl looking forward to celebrating her birthday with her friends and single mother, just like every other year ... until she starts developing heightened abilities and discovers she's being pursued by a mysterious figure.
She soon learns she's part of an ancient, super-powered race of cat people, called The Mai, who have been hunted by human assassins for millennia -- and that she may be their only hope for ultimate survival.
We saw our plucky heroine get pushed to her death from the top of a very high tower. But then, as horrified bystanders stand over her bleeding corpse, and the bad guy races down the twisting staircase to the ground, Chloe suddenly opens her eyes.
'Pretty Little Liars' Season Premiere: Hanna Rejects Caleb (VIDEO)
by Catherine Lawson, posted Jun 15th 2011 6:48AM
The Season 2 premiere of 'Pretty Little Liars' (Tue., 8PM ET on ABC Family) was packed full of revelations and even more mysteries. Like, OMG, where's Ian's body?Much to Hanna's surprise, Lucas arranges for Caleb to come back to town. However, although Hanna may forgive Caleb for using her, she'll never forget, and so he faces an uphill battle to win her trust.
Caleb bears his soul to the skeptical Hanna, saying that he'd never told her of his true feelings because "I didn't feel like I could say those things without making a complete a** of myself. So I wrote you a letter."
Letter? What letter? Hanna never got a letter. She's been mad at him for skipping town without bothering to say good-bye. So when Caleb says, "I gave it to Mona. Didn't she give it to you?" Hanna discovers that yet another friend is unworthy of her trust.
'Pretty Little Liars' Season 2 Premiere: The Most Scandalous Moments
by Jean Bentley, posted Jun 14th 2011 9:00PM
I didn't know how much I missed the nonstop drama of the 'Pretty Little Liars' ladies -- seriously, even their secrets have secrets -- until I watched Tuesday's Season 2 premiere. After you get past the fact that there are way too many beautiful people for such a small Pennsylvania town, the blackmail/backstabbing/clandestine teacher-student affairs are ultra-addicting. Perfect for my spartan summer TV-watching schedule.
After the jump, here are my favorite ridiculous moments from the Season 2 premiere.
Five ABC Family Girls Who Could Be Your New BFF
by Jean Bentley, posted Jun 14th 2011 2:15PM
It's doubtful a mysterious stranger is blackmailing you and framing you for your best friend's murder, but isn't it strange that somehow it feels like the 'Pretty Little Liars' girls could be your real-life BFFs?The same goes for the title character on 'The Nine Lives of Chloe King.' So you're not the most powerful member of a feline-like ancient race with nine lives -- you get the same butterflies when a cute guy flirts with you at your after-school job.
ABC Family has always done a good job at creating shows around likable teenage girls who you can identify with even if your life is nothing like theirs. In honor of tonight's 'PLL' return (8PM ET) and 'Nine Lives' premiere (9PM), I've rounded up five of ABC Family's most relatable characters -- ones I'd totally hang out with if I could (and they weren't fictional).

With the premiere of 'The Nine Lives of Chloe King' tomorrow night, ABC Family is finally getting in on the supernatural action that's so popular among teen-centric television, literature and movies these days. The series follows a San Francisco teen who finds out she's the key to protecting an ancient, super-powered race from evil assassins. Sounds far out, but it's actually very relatable -- especially the performance from star Skyler Samuels.
In AOL TV's exclusive sneak peek below, watch Chloe have a normal conversation with her BFF -- if your idea of normal banter is "I think I died today," that is.
Two Families Learn Their Daughters Were 'Switched at Birth' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 7th 2011 2:14AM
In a premise out of a parent's worst nightmare, 'Switched at Birth' (Mon., 9PM ET on ABC Family) explores what would happen if you found out your family wasn't your family. As it was explained to the Kennish family, "It's extremely rare, but it happens. You took home someone else's baby."Now imagine you're finding this out when your daughter is a teenager, and you've got the basic premise of this new series that seems a perfect fit for the ABC Family lineup of teen-oriented dramas.
The two girls switched at birth come face-to-face, as do their parents. Now it's about figuring out what kind of life you make out of this difficult situation. How do you go forward when your questioning your own path? To complicate things, Bay's life was one of privilege, while deaf Daphne was raised by a single, struggling mother.
'Switched at Birth' Stars Lea Thompson and Katie Leclerc Preview Their New Show
by Jean Bentley, posted Jun 6th 2011 6:00AM
Being switched at birth isn't exactly an experience many people can relate to.But Lea Thompson, star of ABC Family's new series 'Switched at Birth' (premieres Mon., June 6 at 9PM), assures AOL TV there is plenty in the series, about two teenage girls who discover they were accidentally brought home from the hospital by the wrong families, that will feel familiar to viewers.
"A lot of families have adoptive children, egg donors -- it's all about nature versus nurture, and whether you love someone just because they're your blood or whether you love someone because of the experiences you had with them," she says. "I think everybody can relate to that. I certainly can. For my character, I think she's just like 'Oh my gosh, great! There's more people in my family that I can love!'"
Raven-Symoné on TV Land's 'Cosby Show' Reunion and Her New Series, 'State of Georgia'
by AOL TV Staff, posted Apr 17th 2011 10:00AM
By Breia BrisseyTonight's TV Land Awards will bring together the cast of 'The Cosby Show' for the first time in years.
When TV Squad caught up with Raven-Symoné a few weeks ago at the ABC Family upfronts, the now-25-year-old former 'Cosby Show' star said she was excited for the cast to receive the TV Land Impact Award.
"I loved working with Bill Cosby. And it's such an honor to end up on TV Land," Symoné said. "I mean, it's weird because I'm only 25 and on TV Land! But when I was little, I was only allowed to watch TV Land and the cooking network, so it's really cool."
Two decades after she started on the iconic series, the actress formerly known as little Olivia Kendall has a new show of her own. She'll return to TV with ABC Family's 'State of Georgia' (formerly known as 'The Great State of Georgia') in June.
Jessica Lange Cast in 'American Horror Story,' Oprah to Interview Obamas and More
by Jean Bentley, posted Apr 13th 2011 1:00PM
Two-time Oscar-winner Jessica Lange has signed on for Ryan Murphy's mysterious new FX pilot, 'American Horror Story.'According to Deadline, Murphy and co-creator Brad Falchuk are currently rewriting the show to make Lange's part a full-fledged third lead. Not much is known about the pilot, other than it follows a therapist, his "force-to-be-reckoned-with" wife (played by 'Friday Night Lights' star Connie Britton) and now Lange as their nosy neighbor.
The series hasn't been picked up yet, but with an all-star cast and pedigreed creators, it seems like a sure thing for the fall season.

Miranda Lambert Developing ABC Family Series Based on Her Awesome Childhood
by Jean Bentley, posted Apr 5th 2011 11:15AM
I knew a couple of things about Miranda Lambert before today. She's a talented country music singer; she's engaged to Blake Shelton; she was on the country version of 'American Idol.' But I definitely did not know that she had a childhood that's seemingly ripped from the pages of a book series I totally would've read as a kid.Lambert was raised by her former police officer–turned–private investigator father and P.I. mother in Texas. Um, awesome? How is that not the FIRST thing we knew about her?! I'd definitely lead with that at every party I ever attended. "Hi, I'm Miranda, I was raised the child of two P.I.s. I'm basically the original Veronica Mars."
Anyway, Deadline is reporting that Lambert is turning her super-cool childhood into a new series for ABC Family. The show will focus on two kids who help their P.I. parents solve cases.
'The Secret Life of the American Teenager' Stars Tease Proposals, STDs and Drama
by Breia Brissey, posted Mar 28th 2011 1:30PM
It's been a long time (nearly six months!) since 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager' (Monday, 8PM on ABC Family) aired all-new episodes. Who better to refresh your memory than the stars of the show themselves? We caught up with stars Shailene Woodley and Daren Kagasoff, who play teen parents Amy and Ricky, at the ABC Family upfronts to get the scoop on the new season.
The stars were tight-lipped, but Woodley did promise one thing would continue to make an appearance in the new episodes: drama.
"There's definitely a lot of drama," she said. "That's my go-to phrase to not say too much!"
A Storage Locker Reveals a Clue From the Girls' Past on 'Pretty Little Liars' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 14th 2011 10:58PM
How much does it cost a month to rent an average-size storage unit? Why is it that on TV and in the movies, we always see someone get a key to a storage unit, only to find it spotlessly clean save for one cryptic object? Who would pay that monthly fee for a Tweety lunchbox? Well, 'Pretty Little Liars' (Mon, 8PM ET on ABC Family) isn't going to give that answer right away. The lunchbox proved as bizarrely empty as the storage unit, housing only a thumb drive, but the contents of the drive sent the girls into a tizzy of emotion and confusion.
It showed video footage of them from years prior. And it exonerated Allison, maybe, from having filmed the videos as she's seen in most of them. And the girls felt the video ruled out Toby as a suspect as well. So who filmed it? Do you think we'll get any answers in next week's finale?
'Pretty Little Liars' Stars Tease Next Week's Season Finale
by Breia Brissey, posted Mar 14th 2011 1:00PM
As it turns out, the stars of 'Pretty Little Liars' really can keep a secret.TV Squad caught up with Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, and Shay Mitchell at ABC Family's upfront event last week, and all three ladies were frustratingly silent on what fans can expect during next week's season finale.
"All of the girls have dealt with so much the entire season, but nothing will compare to what they have to deal with in the season finale," said Mitchell, who plays Emily. "And I am talking slow because I totally could tell you everything. But that would ruin it, and I'm not going to. So I have to be very careful in what I say. But it's going to end with a bang."
Fortunately, after a little bit of coaxing the ladies finally dropped a few hints about what will take place during 'For Whom The Bell Tolls.' Benson, who stars as Hanna, specifically said the last five minutes are a must see. "All four girls are put at high risks. We're pushed to our limits. We go through this huge obstacle course," she said. "I really can't tell you too much, but the last five minutes are unreal. You get very close to knowing who 'A' is. Insane things happen!"
