Hill Harper talks about Barack Obama on 'Access Hollywood Live'Hill Harper and Barack Obama went to Harvard together, and wound up acting on 'CSI:NY' and the President of the United States, respectively. So you might not imagine they had too many classes together. But Harper said on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC) that he actually got to know Obama in college.

Harper called Obama "a great guy" and said he's still the same person he was at Harvard. He especially praised his sense of humor. "I'll tell you, the thing I wish more people know about our president is seeing his sense of humor. Super funny, super fun. He is, he's very witty and he has this kind of really kind of acerbic kind of cool sense of humor."

Billy Bush does his best Chaz Bono on 'Access Hollywood Live'Billy Bush has been enchanted by Chaz Bono's dancing since he first saw a clip of it early this week. Thursday on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC), Bush did his best impression of 'The Chaz,' and he and Kit Hoover got ready for the new 'Dancing' season by speaking with Valentin Chmerkovskiy, who's paired with Elisabetta Canalis in the competition.

Hoover wanted to know if the uncomfortable, often revealing costumes made it difficult to focus. "Sometimes it can get a little difficult to focus but honestly, it's more difficult to focus for her," he said, referring to his partner. His brother Maksim is also a staple of the show, but has never won. Which means there's a little more on the line for Valentin. "We have a lot of family back home, I have to redeem our name a little bit," he said.

Nicole Richie Previews Her New Show 'Fashion Star' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Sep 7th 2011 3:40PM
Nicole Richie previews 'Fashion Star' on 'Access Hollywood Live'Nicole Richie has been a reality star, TV personality and author, but mentor? That may take some getting used to. Richie will be a fashion mentor on NBC's new show 'Fashion Star,' which has a twist to differentiate it from other fashion design reality competitions. Richie previewed the show Wednesday on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC).

On 'Fashion Star,' fourteen designers will compete to design collections for three retailers -- Macy's, H&M, and Saks. But unlike many shows where designers create high-end fashion garments more suited to a Siberian runway, the clothes have to be wearable and desirable to the general public. "Let's say H&M buys a designers collection for that week -- you can go to H&M and buy it the next day," Richie said.

Chaz Bono has grabbed more attention than any other contestant thus far, and 'Access' showed a clip of him showing off his best moves for the camera. Zoe Saldana Says Women Can Make Violent Action Films Sexy and Edgy (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 26th 2011 4:30PM
Zoe Saldana of 'Columbiana' on 'Access Hollywood Live'In the new film 'Columbiana,' Zoe Saldana plays a woman who saw her parents murdered as a child, and grows up to be an assassin. She goes to work for her uncle, the ultimate goal being revenge on the people who killed her parents. Friday on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC), she talked about playing the lead in a violent action film, a role typically filled by male actors.

She said it was empowering for a woman to play a role that would usually go to a man, especially in a film like 'Columbiana.' "It's a genre that is very geared towards males," she said, "and when a woman can do it and get away with it, and you don't compromise the violence that a film about revenge would entail, it's just sexy and edgy has all heart. So I'm really proud of the movie."

Kit Hoover
said she thought even the fight scenes in 'Columbiana' were sexy. By way of illustration, she rolled a clip of Saldana beating the crap out of a guy, which perhaps tells us more about Kit Hoover than 'Columbiana.'

Kendall Jenner on 'Access Hollywood Live'If you were wondering why you hadn't seen much of Kendall and Kylie Jenner in the first few seasons of 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians,' know that Kendall is happier that way. Jenner spoke Thursday on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC) about her role on the show, and her sisters' boyfriends.

Jenner is happy she and Kylie got to grow up without being the focus of a reality TV show. "We didn't even really want to be in it too much, like in the show too much," she said. "We were just not into it. We were in school, we wanted to be with our friends, have fun, play dates, whatever."

She also loves Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian's new husband, and Scott Disick, Kourtney's boyfriend/baby daddy. Both have a great sense of humor, according to Jenner, and she said Disick gets a bad rap. "I love him," she said. "He's hilarious. He's so fun. He's definitely changed since when we first met him."

Vienna Girardi talks about drinking on 'Bachelor Pad' on 'Access Hollywood Live'Take the feuds on 'Bachelor Pad' with a grain of salt, or, more appropriately, a lime and a salt-shaker. It's just the booze talking, according to Vienna Girardi. Girardi appeared on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC) to talk about this week's episode, in which Erica Rose said some nasty things about her.

Girardi said she and Erica are now friends, but that only happened after this week's episode was taped. "She was just in Vegas this week with me this weekend where I lost my voice," said Girardi. "But I can say this -- alcohol. I'm blaming the Patron and the Jager on all the mean things that people say."

'Glee Project' Winners Talk About Their Experience on 'Access Hollywood Live' (VIDEO)

'Glee Project' winners Samuel Larsen and Damian McGinty on 'Access Hollywood Live'The 'Glee Project' finale had a surprise ending when 'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy revealed not one but two winners -- Samuel Larsen and Damian McGinty. The pair appeared on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC) to talk about their road to the finale, and what the win means to them.

The finale taped in April, which means Larsen and McGinty haven't been able to tell anyone about their win for months. "Oh, I told my mom and dad," said Larsen. "No, I mean, when they slap that kind of a contract in your face and tell you the consequences, you keep your mouth shut."

Larsen also said he had been tempted in the past to lose the dreads to get parts and pass auditions, but he's thankful he never cut them. "And I'm so glad I didn't because, you know, now it's kind of become a trademark thing," he said. McGinty was a bit more philosophical about the win. "To come out on top along with Samuel," he said, "you know, it proves the underdog can, you know -- which is what 'Glee's' about, which is even more incredible -- but it proves the underdog can come out on top."

"I want to go out for cocktails with her."

Plimpton said cocktails would be a good idea -- Bloody Marys in the morning and something with vodka in it for later in the day. Hoover asked about Leachman's "antics" on the 'Raising Hope' set. Leary tried so hard not to give away details about either project to Billy Bush that the interview turned into a miniature stand-up bit.

After the clips, Brian Williams gave his opinion on who might replace Lopez in the late night slot.

Lopez asked Longoria about her "wardrobe malfunction" on Letterman in April, when a button popped loose on an already revealing top. Nothing improper actually got shown, but Longoria said it was the most downloaded video of the month. "Maybe if I did that here, we would still be on," said Longoria. Lopez suggested in might not be too late. Longoria also noted that when the show started, she and Lopez were both employed and married, and now they are both divorced and jobless.
