"I love behind-the-scenes," she said. "I love producing, I love putting things together. We work with the writers to write the content, we book all of the presenters, we book the music, and so then I was like, we've got to get a comedian on this show. And so we got George, who was a natural fit, and it's so fun to play off of him. We're just really good friends."

Shannen Doherty Discusses Her 'Bad Girl' Past, the Miley Cyrus Bong Video and the Tabloid Media (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 14th 2010 1:00PM
Shannen Doherty, 'Access Hollywood'Billy Bush made the comparison to Miley Cyrus, but really they could have been talking about any of the young starlets who get labeled with the moniker of "bad girl," in some cases by 'Access Hollywood' (Weekdays, Syndicated) themselves. Shannen Doherty was on the show, and she certainly was one of the first of this modern era of celebrity transparency to be so branded.

When asked why she thinks she was labeled as a bad girl, Doherty owned up to her behavior. "I think I made it a little easy for them," she admitted. "I think ... because ['Beverly Hills, 90210'] was such a sensation, that it was probably best to stay home, which I did not do."

She also indicated that she thinks the media in some ways dictated who they wanted to present as the bad girl, by looking at who was out and about the most of these super-successful young people. That theory might help explain, as the media and the Internet have made such videos and photos more prevalent, why there seem to be more celebrity "bad girls" in the past ten to fifteen years than we've ever seen before that.

Margaret Cho Addresses Her Controversial Bristol Palin 'DWTS' Blog Post (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Dec 7th 2010 1:30PM
Margaret Cho discusses Bristol Palin on 'Access Hollywood'Margaret Cho went on 'Access Hollywood Live' (Weekdays, syndicated) today to address her controversial blog post which alleged that Bristol Palin only went on 'Dancing With the Stars' to please her mother Sarah and make up for her part in the Republican loss in the 2008 election.

Cho's theory about the Palin's intentions was that, by appearing on 'Dancing,' Bristol could replace the public's memory of her teen pregnancy and instead begin to think of her as a wholesome, dancing celebrity. Therefore, the Palin family would be more electable in 2012.

Cho admitted the post was based on gossip, but as a stand-up comedian, she said she was just saying what she thought. She likes Bristol, but not her family's politics. And if Sarah Palin is going to run, Cho added, "I wish she would just admit it, because I want to stop it."

Cho added that she's friends with Bristol, and that she's angered by those who would criticize the young woman for her weight, saying "she looks beautiful out on the dance floor."

"I hated that when it happened to me," said Cho, "so I wanted to say, she's not fat, she's a beautiful girl."

On the Scene: Was Michael Bolton the 'Worst in 11 Seasons' of 'Dancing With the Stars'?

by Michael Maloney, posted Sep 28th 2010 3:00PM
Michael BoltonMichael Bolton was in the 'Dancing With the Stars' judges' doghouse last night. His jive with Chelsie Hightower, set to 'Hound Dog,' earned an awful 12 out of 30 points and was deemed by Bruno Tonioli as "the worst jive in 11 seasons."

"You did it all very, very, very badly," Bruno said.

Even Len Goodman -- normally the most critical of the judges -- found Tonioli's comments to be harsh. Still, he said Bolton's performance "probably needed a pooper scooper at the end."

But was it really "the worst" as Bruno called it? Vote in the AOL TV/Access Hollywood poll.

Lindsay Lohan Is Sent to Jail (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jul 7th 2010 9:15PM
Lindsay Lohan Is Sent to JailWell, it finally happened. Starlet Lindsay Lohan was thrown in jail. The actress was sentenced to 90 days in prison for violating the terms of her probation. 'Access Hollywood' (weeknights, 7:30PM ET on NBC) has the scoop.

Lindsay was given a jail sentence for missing her required alcohol-education classes. This was after she was arrested twice for driving under the influence of cocaine and alcohol. She also had her picture taken while allegedly doing cocaine again, a little more than a month ago. And now, she's actually being sent to prison. Gosh, it's almost like we live in a country with laws that people aren't allowed to break -- even if they are famous and good-looking.

Meanwhile, as all this was taking place, everyone was obsessing over the fact that Lindsay had the words "F#ck U" painted on her middle fingernail.

Upon hearing the terms of her sentence, Lindsay wept, and expressed regret, saying that she had a lot of "respect" for the court system. "I'm not taking this as a joke; it's my life," she said. But the curse word drawn on her fingernail seemed to suggest something different.

Jennifer Aniston Watches Gabourey Sidibe Hit on Gerard Butler (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 17th 2010 12:13AM
Access Hollywood, Jennifer Aniston, Gerard ButlerJennifer Aniston missed the footage of Gabourey Sidibe hitting on Gerard Butler at the Oscars. But all is well, because she had a chance to watch it on 'Access Hollywood' (weekdays, 12:30PM ET on NBC), while the two were promoting 'The Bounty Hunter' (in theaters Friday).

It's pretty funny, too. On the red carpet, Sidibe said, "I kinda said I'd hit that," referring to Butler, who seemed at a loss for words, but managed to choke out, "I'm here. I'm available."

It was awkward, and continued to be awkward when Aniston and Butler watched it back again like deer caught in the headlights. You've gotta hand it to Sidibe, though, who doesn't shirk from anything. "I like where this is goin'," she said. "Maybe we should get a bottle of champagne and see where the night takes us."

by Donald Deane, posted Dec 1st 2009 11:58AM
Recent photos of three-year-old Suri Cruise in high heels may have raised a few eyebrows, but, according to Katie Holmes, it was her daughter's decision to wear pint-sized versions of the adult footwear.

Holmes told 'Access Hollywood' during an event for her "Dizzy Feet" charity that Suri is obsessed with her mommy's shoes. "Like every little girl, she loves my high heels," Holmes said, which prompted her to purchase footwear specially made for her daughter's young feet.
