Starz, FX Pass on 'Kennedys' Miniseries, Former 'Big Brother' Contestants Face Prison Time and More
by Chris Harnick, posted Jan 11th 2011 3:00PM
History's ousted 'The Kennedys' miniseries continues to look for a home: Starz and FX have passed on airing the series.According to the Hollywood Reporter, with Starz and FX out of the running, there are very few options for the controversial project. Disney and NBC Universal executives reportedly had a role in having the series yanked, so their networks are out.
HBO is working on its own project on the Kennedy legacy, leaving Showtime as one of the last cable networks that could save the project. Another possibility is releasing the series directly to DVD. Given the buzz around it, sales and/or ratings will probably be high.
"Most of the cable nets are part of huge media companies, so they're all subject to the same pressures," Brad Adgate, media buyer and TV analyst for Horizon Media, said. "This might go straight to video."

Top Stories of 2009: Reality scandals
by Michael Pascua, posted Dec 22nd 2009 10:01AM

It's interesting when one takes the time to look back back at 2009, several scandals that occurred this year were related to television. There were four big reality scandals that occurred in 2009, most of them happening in the second half of the year. They have stayed fresh in pop culture buzz.
This list doesn't count Jon & Kate's drama, all the injuries on Survivor, So You Think You Can Dance, and Dancing with the Stars, Chima's explosion on Big Brother, or Adam Lambert's sexual preferences. Those events pale in comparison to the five scandals listed.
'Big Brother 9' Winner Adam Jasinski Arrested in Oxycodone Bust
by Patricia Chui, posted Oct 20th 2009 12:19PM
What would YOU do if you won $500,000 on a reality show? Would you buy a house, a car, or ... deal drugs with it? Adam Jasinski, winner of 'Big Brother' season 9, went the latter route -- he's been arrested for using his $500,000 prize money to buy and resell the painkiller Oxycodone, which is considered a controlled substance.According to reports, Jasinski attempted to sell 2,000 pills to a government witness in Massachusetts. He'd flown to Boston from his home in Florida, getting into the witness' car and showing him a sock filled with two bags of the pills. The witness drove him from Logan Airport to a strip mall, where police arrested Jasinski (but not before he struggled with the authorities and, according to the Huffington Post, threw the sock underneath a nearby car).
