'Community' May Be Just a Figment of Joel McHale's Imagination (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 9th 2011 12:00AM
'Community' cast - 'The Soup'With 'Community' airing its final scheduled episode this week (Save Greendale!), the cast stopped by to visit Joel McHale on 'The Soup' (Wed., 10PM ET on E!) with some startling news. When McHale asked why Chevy Chase wasn't with them, Ken Jeong told him, "There is no Chevy. He's a figment of your imagination."

Eventually, after Adam Scott and Nick Kroll joined them on set, it was revealed that not only were the pair of them also figments of his imagination, but so was the entire cast. Mankini explained: "This is just a delusion you created so you wouldn't have to face the face that you only work at E!"

Alison Brie chimed in, "If 'Community' were real, don't you think you would have seen a commercial for it on NBC?"

Adam Scott: 'Party Down' Movie Has a Production Company, Waiting for Starz

by Chris Harnick, posted Nov 15th 2011 1:15PM
Party DownLow-rated, cult-hit series gets canceled. Said series becomes more popular after cancellation. Creators and cast fuel reunion movie rumors for months, years even. Sound familiar? It's been the case of 'Arrested Development' (canceled in 2006), 'Veronica Mars' (canceled in 2007) and 'Party Down' (canceled in 2010). However, it looks like the 'Party Down' movie could actually get made first.

Adam Scott, star of the dearly departed 'Party Down,' went on Marc Maron's WTF Podcast and spilled some beans on the status of the film.

"There's a company that is interested in it and they said they want to do it, it's just a matter of getting Starz to completely sign off on it," Scott said. "I think they're going to. They've been pretty cool about it."

Get Ready for 'Parks and Recreation' in IMAX and 3D! (Not Really)

by Chris Harnick, posted Dec 30th 2010 4:00PM
Nick Offerman, Parks and RecreationThat noise you hear? It's a collective sigh of relief from fans of 'Parks and Recreation' who are eagerly awaiting the show's return on Jan. 20 at 9:30PM on NBC. Less than a month to go!

After months without earnest Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), sarcastic April Ludgate (Aubrey Plaza) and the charming Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), the gang from Pawnee are making their way back to TV. NBC has been rolling out sweet commercials, but this video that originally appeared on Vulture in October still has us LLOLing (literally laughing out loud).

Poehler, Offerman, Aziz Ansari and new cast member Adam Scott believe their show is going 'Seinfeld' and will be shot in IMAX and 3D. Sit back and watch the vintage (two months is vintage in this industry!) video below.

Lindsay Lohan's Mom Wants on 'Dancing With the Stars,' Supercomputer to Face 'Jeopardy!' Champions and More

by Jean Bentley, posted Dec 14th 2010 3:00PM
Dina LohanLindsay Lohan won't be on 'Dancing With the Stars' next season, but we could see another Lohan instead.

In an interview with RadarOnline, Lindsay's mom, Dina, said she was interested in appearing on the show even though her daughter turned it down, saying, "Lindsay actually told the woman at 'Dancing With the Stars' who made the offer that 'you need to take my mom!'"

No word on whether the producers listened to the suggestion, but since Dina's giving interviews about the conversation, we're betting they didn't.

Megan Mullally Talks 'Party Down,' 'Karen: The Musical'

by Robin Milling, posted May 7th 2010 6:00AM

Megan MullallyYou know that lady on 'Party Down' with short hair and pink glasses that just seems to earnest for her own good? That's Megan Mullally as Lydia, a Midwestern mom who moves to Hollywood to pursue her daughter's dreams of stardom and she's the latest edition to the band of misfits on 'Party Down' (Fri., 10PM ET on Starz).

Mullally's seasoned comedic chops are nourished by her co-stars Adam Scott, Ryan Hansen, Martin Starr and Ken Marino, whose behind-the-scenes pranks of leaving little gifts behind in trailer toilets feed into the insanity of the show.

The actress who may be best known as the bodacious Karen Walker on 'Will & Grace,' chatted with TV Squad to talk about her new role on one of the most critically-acclaimed, ratings-challenged shows, 'Karen: The Musical,' Children's Hospital' and a sing-off with 'Party Down' alumna Jane Lynch.

What is your role on 'Party Down'?
It's my new favorite show. I'm playing a dorky screwball caterer Lydia in the company called Party Down. [She] is this clueless, bright eyed and bushy tailed woman from the Midwest who comes to Hollywood with her 12 year-old daughter Escapade who is going to be a star. This season we're catering backstage at a def-metal concert and we're catering an orgy. I have a crush on every person in that show including Lizzy Caplan. I would literally make out with any of those people although that would be kind of disgusting because three of them are in their 20s and I'm 51!

Rob Lowe and Adam Scott to Cut 'Parks and Recreation's' Budget

by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 28th 2010 11:30AM
Adam ScottIt's been widely reported that TV actors Rob Lowe and Adam Scott will soon be joining the cast of NBC's Thursday-night comedy 'Parks and Recreation.' But until today, nobody quite knew what their characters would be doing in Pawnee.

Well, wonder no more: According to the LA Times, their characters, state auditors, are going to slash the budget of the Pawnee, Indiana, parks and rec offices.

'Party Down' - 'Jackal Onassis Backstage Party' Recap (Season Premiere)

by Chris Harnick, posted Apr 23rd 2010 10:30PM

(S2E01) Lydia: "Me and Escapade left him back in Wapato." Casey: "Escapade? That's your ... car?" Lydia: "My daughter, the future star."

It's hard watching 'Party Down' knowing that this show will likely not be back for a third season. But, set aside all the casting news -- virtually all of the cast is committed to new pilots and series star Adam Scott is going to 'Parks and Recreation' -- and 'Party Down' is just as enjoyable as it was last season. The writing remains sharp and quick, while the sardonic wit that makes this show so special continues to flourish.

The season 2 premiere finds the caterers backstage at a concert of the fictional rocker Jackal Onassis (Jimmi Simpson). Henry (Adam Scott) has been promoted to team leader and Ron (Ken Marino) is no longer with the team, but runs into them at the concert. Kyle (Ryan Hansen) and Roman (Martin Starr) are still there, not finding much success in their careers yet.

Natalie Morales Joining 'Parks and Recreation'

by Bob Sassone, posted Mar 16th 2010 3:03PM
Natalie MoralesWe told you earlier today about Marsha Thomason returning to her role as Agent Diana Lancing on 'White Collar.' But where would that leave Natalie Morales, who took over for Thomason (in another role)? Creator Jeff Eastin mentioned the four movies that Morales has coming out this year, but would that mean she wouldn't have time for television too?

Actually, she has time for that too. Michael Ausiello reports that Morales will appear on 'Parks and Recreation' for several episodes. She'll play Lucy, who works at one of the local bars.

There seems to be more news coming from 'Parks and Recreation' than there does from the health care debate in Washington. Rob Lowe is joining the show! Adam Scott is joining the show! Paul Schneider is leaving the show! The news that Scott is not only joining 'Parks and Recreation' but leaving 'Party Down' is the biggest news to me. With Jane Lynch also off 'Party Down,' that show has suffered two big blows.

Paul Schneider Leaving 'Parks and Recreation'

by Bob Sassone, posted Mar 13th 2010 2:44PM
Paul SchneiderThis is not going to sit well with a lot of 'Parks and Recreation' fans, but here goes: Paul Schneider is leaving the show.

Co-creator Mike Schur confirms to the LA Times that Schneider is indeed leaving the show. Seems it's a combination of things. The fact that Schneider's character wasn't supposed to be on the show in the same position (he was supposed to be a character that came and went, switching between various government and private sector jobs) and the fact that Schneider's film career is taking off. He's going to be missed. He was always sort of the Jim Halpert of the group.

There is a bit of good news in this bad news. Both Rob Lowe and Adam Scott are joining the show. That could make things interesting and even make the cast a little meatier. Of course, there's a bit of a bad-news-inside-this-good-news-inside-this-bad news: Adam Scott is also on 'Party Down,' a really good show on STARZ. I hope he can do both.
