'SNL' Scorecard: Did Spider-Man Rescue Emma Stone's Show?
by Mike Ryan, posted Nov 13th 2011 12:40PM

Last season, Emma Stone hosted 'SNL' for the first time, a show that would introduce us to "Sex" Ed Vincent and "Les Jeunes de Paris." For Stone's return visit, "Les Jeunes de Paris" was back for a third time (sadly, "Sex" Ed still isn't back) – in fact, for whatever reason, of the first eight sketches of the night (including the two Update segments), only the Digital Short wasn't a recurring sketch. Even the Spider-Man monologue was a recurring sketch! Regardless, it doesn't matter -- Stone has now proven twice that she's a terrific host. But, after four subpar shows in a row to start the season, could Stone keep the momentum going that started with Charlie Day's show last week? On to the Scorecard!
Jackie Evancho, Adorably, Feels Bad For Knocking Lady Gaga Down the Charts (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 13th 2011 2:05PM
Jackie Evancho clearly has the voice to be a successful pop singer, but the eleven-year-old former 'America's Got Talent' contestant may need to sharpen her elbows if she really wants to get to the top. Evancho appeared Monday on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) to talk about her new album, 'Dream With Me,' which, despite an official June 14 release date, is already the number one album on Amazon.com.When asked how it felt to be beating out Lady Gaga and Adele, Evancho was happy, but slightly guilty. "It feels amazing," she said, "and I kind of feel sad. Because I'm kicking them out of their spot."
'Glee' Wants Adele and Susan Boyle for Season 3
by Catherine Lawson, posted Jun 3rd 2011 5:55AM
'Glee' may have just bowed out for the summer, but the producers are hard at work prepping for Season 3 already, and word is that at least two new girls will be enrolling at McKinley High this fall.According to TVLine.com producers are planning to add two recurring female characters to the cast. The casting call memorably describes one of them as "Adele meets Susan Boyle."
The lucky candidate will not only have to possess great singing chops, but she must be at least 18 years old and still be able to pass for a high-school student.
The second character is less specific. Named Rebecca, she's described as "beautiful and someone who can sing all kinds of music."

'Grey's Anatomy' Season 7, Episode 17 Recap
by Breia Brissey, posted Mar 25th 2011 6:50AM
['Grey's Anatomy' - 'This is How We Do It']Last night's episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' had me at the opening bars of Adele's 'Rumor Has It.' As Meredith explained in her opening monologue, being a doctor is all about following protocol: "Because if we don't follow protocol, then our patients die. And then, we're no longer bad ass. We're just bad."
Derek and Meredith continued to work on their trial study with a woman named Sonya. Her son left London and broke up with his boyfriend to make sure she could participate. It was his way of repaying her for being so accepting when he came out.
Meanwhile, Chief Webber spent his time trying to convince Derek to break protocol and allow his wife, Adele, to join the Alzheimer's study. But the trial and the waiting list were already full. However, Derek's patient, Sonya, later found out what her son was giving up for her, and she immediately dropped out of the trial, thereby opening up a spot for Adele.
VH1 Divas returns with Paula Abdul as host
by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 26th 2009 11:02AM
I'll admit I have no way of knowing what Paula Abdul's thinking at any given time. Even people who listen to her talk generally have no idea what she's thinking. You have to figure that after negotiating to join So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing With the Stars and Ugly Betty, Adbul hosting the latest VH1 Divas special on Thursday, September 17 is a bit of a let-down.It's a great nab for VH1; people will be curious to see her first post-Idol gig. You can even argue that the choice makes sense, considering the concert will feature two former American Idol winners: Kelly Clarkson and Jordin Sparks. Joining them are Adele, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus. It doesn't take nearly as much to be a diva these days.
It'll be fun watching Abdul try to steer an entire show rather than just a single coherent sentence of criticism. Who knows, maybe she'll find out that she's great at this and she can take over VH1 the way Ryan Seacrest took over E!. As long as they don't do a Who's That Girl? series with male skanks like Corey Clark trying to date her.

Dancing with the Stars: Week 3 results
by Michael Pascua, posted Mar 25th 2009 12:10AM
Steve Wozniak dodges yet another bullet. Not only did Steve not have to battle for his life, he was called early to the surprise of Karina. Steve Wozniak has fans. Lots of fans. I remember Kathy Griffin mentioning he had "Mac Enthusiasts" in her last comedy CD, but I guess they were actually as fanatic as she joked about. He must be getting the most votes to overcompensate a 10. I smirked a little watching the show. I'm not sure why, but there was a glitch at one point when Samantha was interviewing Melissa. I was almost happy that I didn't have to hear her voice. Anyhoo, after seeing Steve safe, the bottom two was obvious. More information after the jump.
Saturday Night Live: Josh Brolin/Adele - VIDEOS
by Annie Wu, posted Oct 19th 2008 12:02PM
(S34E05) First of all: It felt like Josh Brolin wasn't really hosting the show, but just kind of hanging out until Mark Wahlberg and Sarah Palin got their business done. He did a fair job with what he was given, though. Secondly: Fartface. Why? Why would they do that? I'm glad NBC.com didn't post that video, because it was so bafflingly bad that everyone that was in the room with me, watching the episode, was reeling from the effects. Please note that I am someone who still laughs at "duty," so a sketch revolving around the word "fartface" should have killed me. Instead, it just left me a little confused and wondering what stuff ends up on the SNL writing room floor. Anyway, this was a big episode, so here are some video highlights:TV Squad Hot Topics
