Edyta Sliwinska Reportedly Quits 'Dancing With the Stars'
by Kelly Woo, posted Aug 30th 2010 7:00PM
After 10 seasons, 'Dancing With the Stars' pro Edyta Sliwinska has reportedly quit the show. She told TMZ, "The producers' vision of what they wanted my career to be did not meet my expectations. They wanted my career to be the show. I can't be a dancer my whole life."She said she plans to go back to school to get a degree in communications and dance, as well as pursue other projects.
But according to TMZ, ABC had no comment and a source said Sliwinska is still under contract.
Sliwinska is the only professional dancer to appear throughout the reality competition's entire run -- though she's never won the prized mirrorball trophy. Her best result on the show was second place with NFL player Jason Taylor in season 6. Last spring, in season 10, she and partner, soap actor Aiden Turner, placed ninth.
ABC announces new cast of Dancing With the Stars
by Kona Gallagher, posted Aug 25th 2008 12:02PM
Dancing With the Stars is a show that makes no sense to me. I understand the appeal of it; I'm usually very interested in any program that involves celebrities doing ridiculous things on national television and I know that people love bright shiny costumes, but it still somehow manages to hold no interest for me whatsoever. With that said, I know that the announcement of each season's DWTS cast is heavily anticipated and rumored for months before the actual announcement. We heard that Dan Marino may be a contestant; a claim that was soon denied. 82-year-old Cloris Leachman was another name floated, as was Magnum, P.I. himself, Tom Selleck. Kim Kardashian and Kathy Griffin were also said to have been approached.
As with most rumors, some of these turned out to be false, but others had some truth to them. Follow me after the jump for the official (and completely insane) cast of Dancing With the Stars' seventh season, along with some twists the producers have cooked up for this go-around.
Jonathan Roberts on Dancing With The Stars: Week 6
by Brett Love, posted Apr 22nd 2008 3:20AM
With another week of dances in the books, it's time to check in with our favorite professional dancer. This week Jonathan once again gives us his perspective on all of the couple's performances. Then we make our way through some of the reader questions.
Along the way we learn about his past with Cheryl, Edyta, and Alec. He also touches on the difficulty of balancing what the judges want in a dance with what the viewers want. It probably won't mean the end of the questions, but Jonathan does his best to try and answer the age old DWTS puzzler, how the heck does the lift rule work anyway? And... Jonathan on waxing. All that, and more, after the jump.
