The Real Housewives of NYCBravo's 'Real Housewives' franchise always manages to make headlines, even when the drama is unfolding off-camera.

HuffPost Celebrity's Rob Shuter is reporting that Jill Zarin, Kelly Bensimon and Alex McCord were all let go from 'The Real Housewives of New York City' on Thursday, and that three new ladies will be added to the cast for its new season. Us Weekly claims Cindy Barshop is also off the show.

The 'Housewives' housecleaning leaves Ramona Singer and former Countess LuAnn de Lesseps as the only original cast members remaining. Sonja Morgan will also be staying with the show. No word yet on last season's new addition Cindy Barshop, although it's been widely reported that she will also not be returning.

'Real Housewives of New York' Cast Shake-Up? Alex McCord Responds to New Report

by PopEater Staff, posted Jun 28th 2011 10:15AM
Real Housewives of NYCIt was reunion time for Bravo's 'The Real Housewives of New York' last Wednesday at Capital in NYC. As usual, it was full of tears, laughter and betrayal but nothing was as interesting as one 'Real Housewife' talking about the show in the past tense.

"Cindy [Barshop] barely spoke at the taping," a cast member told PopEater' Rob Shuter, "And when she did talk about her time on the show it was in the past tense. She is definitely not coming back."

Also buzzing around today is a new report by HollywoodLife that in addition to Cindy, original housewife Alex McCord will also not be around for a fifth season, but in an exclusive statement to PopEater, Alex rebuffs such claims.

NYC 'Housewives': Alex, Sonja Fight Over Who Hijacked the Marriage Equality March (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Apr 15th 2011 5:40AM
Alex, Sonja Fight on NYC 'Housewives'On 'The Real Housewives of New York' (Thu., 10PM ET on BRAVO), Sonja Morgan hijacked the marriage equality march, making it all about her once she was named grand marshal of the event. Alex McCord's husband Simon was scheduled to take the podium, but Sonja wouldn't share the mic.

Later at an event for Sonja's artist beau Bryan, she and Alex debated who was the event's bigger bridezilla. "You kicked [Simon] off the podium!" said Alex. Sonja replied, "I was invited to speak, and you were not."

They fought by simply talking at the same time. Sonja seemed to win, merely for being louder. "Now is not the time," she said. "This is my home. I have guests arriving. This is about Bryan and myself today -- it's not about you. You need to have some manners."

"Excuse me, Sonja, I'm not done yet," said Alex, following her into another room and continuing to chatter away.

Finally Sonja yelled, "Don't you ever talk to me like this again. You have the worst manners. This is the wrong time and the wrong place, and you know what, at the wedding march it was the wrong time and the wrong place! You have crossed the wrong person. Out of my house!"

'The Real Housewives of New York City' Season 4, Episode 2 Recap

Another week, another battle of the bitches. By the way, you look fabulous. We all look fabulous. Any discussion on 'The Real Housewives of New York City' has to start with them complimenting each other about how lovely they look. It must be in the Bravo directives because every encounter begins with the 'fabulous' mantra.

Now that the first two episodes have aired, I think it's safe to say that Alex has emerged as the victim of the season. Maybe she's taking over Bethenny's crown as the 'wife' who gets dumped on, talked about and generally misunderstood.

Jill and Bethenny Hug and Make Up on 'Real Housewives' (VIDEO)

Jill and Bethenny Hug and Make Up on 'Real Housewives'Well! After all the fussing, feuding and fighting, the 'Real Housewives' season ends here. And it ends with two women who seem to hate each other deciding to hug and make nice.

This is the last installment of 'The Real Housewives of New York' reunion special (Thu., 9PM ET on Bravo). Naturally, some weirdness happened. In fact, the show was so odd that it forced us to ask a bunch of important philosophical questions. Like, was what we saw before all a mirage? And what is reality, anyway?

Previously, Jill and Bethenny got into such a big fight that Jill stormed out of the room. This was followed by another Bethenny-related fight where Kelly stormed out of the room. But now, apparently, it's all good. The women suddenly decide to make up, while hanging out in their strange pink couch-filled reunion room.

Jill and Beth "hug it out," and Jill says this: "I really miss you ... it's not bullsh#t." Um, say what now? Have we been watching the same show? Don't you guys hate each other?

Now ... on to part two! Who will act insane this time around?

'The Real Housewives of NYC' Throw a Surprise Bridal ShowerIt's a bridal shower on 'The Real Housewives of New York City' (Thu., 10PM ET on Bravo). A double bridal shower, actually, which is being thrown for both Bethenny and Ramona. And the presents handed out at the party are weirdly inappropriate -- but are also somehow completely expected, given the nature of the show.

The 'Real' NJ Experience: Partying With 'Housewives of New Jersey' on Their Turf

by Sandra Deane, posted May 4th 2010 2:05PM
The author's mother with Teresa Guidice of The Real Housewives of New JerseyI'm a Jersey girl, born and raised and, with the exception of a two-year exodus to Northern California, a life-long resident. I was born here and I plan on dying here in the house my mother grew up in. Yep, I'm THAT kind of Jersey girl. Needless to say, a girl like me doesn't say no to an invite to The Brownstone in Paterson, NJ to attend the official 'The Real Housewives of NJ' premiere party.

So, with my mom in tow (natch; that's her in the photo next to star Teresa Giudice), I hit the biggest party in town Monday night. The Brownstone is a beautiful venue in the state's third largest city. After checking in, we noticed a massive spread - a very Italian feast including calamari, eggplant parm and a stunning arrangement of cured meats and fresh mozzarella.

While most of the cast was holed up on another floor with press, Teresa and her daughter Gia were mingling with diners, graciously taking photos and answering questions. Despite her fabulous new "bubbies," it was her amazingly styled hair that seemed to draw the most attention.

Bethenny Frankel does killer impressions (and not just of Jill Zarin)

by Eliot Glazer, posted Apr 17th 2009 9:05AM
Bethenny Frankel - Real Housewives of New York CityThe ladies of The Real Housewives of New York City are, needless to say, a colorful bunch. The Bravo franchise seems to have hit its stride, with each cast of Housewives providing their own flavor. But in comparison to Orange County and Atlanta, the ladies of New York seem especially weird. Perhaps it's apropos to their all living in a city with crazy people at every corner, but whatever the case may be, these gals are bonkers.

Sure, the show may just be a well-delivered product of sneaky producers and menacing editors, but somebody's doing something right in bringing out the bizarre nuances of Jill, LuAnn, Alex, Ramona, and Bethenny - although she, of the whipsmart one-liners and catchphrases, seems to be the crowd favorite (judging by ... conversations I've had with people).
