Martha Stewart's Daughter Reveals Not-So Perfect Childhood In Tell-All Book
by Chris Harnick, posted Oct 3rd 2011 11:00AM
What's living with Martha Stewart like? Well, according to her daughter Alexis, it wasn't exactly all crafts and Christmas magic.According to the Daily Mail, Alexis is opening up about her childhood in a new book, 'Whateverland: Learning to Live Here.'
"If I didn't do something perfectly, I had to do it again... I grew up with a glue gun pointed at my head," Alexis says in her new book out Oct. 18.
Alexis is Martha's only child. A divorced mother of one, she previously co-hosted radio and TV shows 'Whatever, Martha' and 'Whatever, You're Wrong!' on the Hallmark Channel. In 'Whatever, Martha,' Alexis and co-host Jennifer Hutt would make fun of old 'Martha Stewart Living' episodes and then try to cook or complete the project of the episode.
Kids (Sort of) Offend Alexis Stewart by Calling Her a 'MILF' (VIDEO)

The term "MILF" might very well be offensive to women, but not necessarily Alexis Stewart. On 'Whatever With Alexis and Jennifer' (weekdays, 11AM ET on Hallmark), Stewart told a story in which a carload of kids referred to her using the term, and she wasn't quite sure how to feel.Mario Cantone Argues He Can Bake on 'Whatever With Alexis and Jennifer' (VIDEO)

Mario Cantone was his normally effusive self on 'Whatever With Alexis and Jennifer' (weekdays, 12PM ET on HLMK), challenging Alexis Stewart to a bake-off mid-interview, then loudly defending himself when Stewart and Jennifer Koppelman Hutt challenged his baking skill.Martha Stewart Bribed Daughter With $60,000 in Clothing (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted Feb 18th 2010 4:30PM
Bribery can work wonders on correcting a child's behavior, but the story that Martha Stewart shared on 'The Martha Stewart Show' (weekdays, syndicated) seems to go a bit too far. Stewart said she bribed her daughter Alexis with new clothes in order to order to correct her posture, and the final tally after a year was staggering. "I told her, 'You can buy any clothes you want as long as you stand tall,'" Stewart said when Alexis started to slouch as a teenager. "So, she started to stand really tall, and the first year, the bill was $60,000. It was horrifying."

Whatever, Martha looks kind of mean, kind of hilarious - VIDEOS
by Kona Gallagher, posted Sep 9th 2008 11:03AM
If you're Alexis Stewart, daughter of domestic goddess Martha Stewart; your childhood was weird. It's an unavoidable fact; no one could grow up around that much tulle and handmade, hand-stamped wrapping paper and escape without any lasting effects. Luckily, Alexis has been able to use this to her advantage. Along with her friend Jennifer Koppelman Hutt, Alexis Stewart is mining her experiences growing up with Martha for her new show, Whatever, Martha. When I first heard about Whatever, Martha, I laughed. Seriously; it sounded like one of those ideas you come up with at three in the morning after downing a family sized bottle of Cabernet. Kind of an, "oh my God, I just had the best idea for a show: what if we sat around and watched old episodes of Martha Stewart Living and tried to do the crafts while I talk about how screwed up my childhood was and how Martha always forgot my birthdays and stuff" kind of idea. Starting on September 16, that 3 am idea is going to become a reality -- and we have video.
Did you hear the one about Martha Stewart?

Most people don't turn in to Fine Living Network for laughs, but all that's about to change on September 16, at least for as long as a new comedy series called Whatever, Martha! runs. Imagine, if you will, an entire clip show culled from The Martha Stewart Show. Now, picture a couple of chicks sitting around and making fun of said clips. That's the concept for Whatever, Martha!, and if this idea reminds you of Mystery Science Theater 3000 -- sans puppets -- that's a good thing.
Fine Living has gotten Martha's blessing for the show. Heck, she's leading the laughs by allowing the clips to be used. Also the two women who'll be presenting the show and mocking her every half-hour are close to her: Alexis Stewart, her daughter, and Jennifer Koppelman Hutt, whose father -- Charles Koppelman -- is the chairman of Martha's media empire.
So, this is all in the family for the Stewart camp, and whatever jokes, cracks and observations made by the women will be with the Martha Stewart seal of approval.
Martha Stewart's daughter fixated on horses
by Anna Johns, posted Jan 13th 2006 12:27PM
Martha Stewart's daughter, Alexis, is on a mission to get horse-drawn carriages out of New York City. She recently
wrote a letter to Mayor Michael Bloomberg to ban the attractions. Stewart is a member of PETA (People for the Ethical
Treatment of Animals), a group that is very upset over a recent collision between a vehicle and a horse-drawn carriage.
The carriage driver was seriously injured in the crash, as was the horse, which was euthanized. Stewart contends that
horses are forced to work long hours in unpleasant weather, on hard pavement, and breathe in polluted air from all the
cars on the streets. She also says they happen to be a danger to pedestrians and others who use the streets and
sidewalks of New York. Operators of horse-drawn carriages argue that the horses are treated well and that the horse-car
crash on January 2nd was a fluke.TV Squad Hot Topics
