Sit Down, Shut Up: Back in Time
by Kona Gallagher, posted May 11th 2009 12:40AM

(S01E04) So it's bad when a comedy makes you want to cry, right? I mean, it's not their fault, I'm sure that when they animated the scene of the Knob Haven High staff sitting around eating cheese cake, Bea Arthur was still alive. But when they played the Golden Girls music, I couldn't help but think that was a much better show.
The whole Golden Girls thing was just many of the random, awkward 80s parodies they did this episode. I liked the cold open where they were initially assigning themselves parts in 80s teen comedies, and the later Huey Lewis payoff was pretty funny, but I need help.
I'm not sure if I missed it, but I did not get the bagel thing. For the life of me, I just couldn't figure it out; and no matter what the show said, it wasn't funnier on re-watch.
Kyle XY: I've Had The Time Of My Life (season finale)

Expectations. Everyone had expectations this week, including myself. Sadly, the season finale of Kyle XY didn't meet my expectations. The previous episodes had set everything up for a rocking finale and, instead, we were treated to a mushy prom filled with teen angst, expectations, mishaps, and a spiked punch. It was such a letdown that I wonder if the the writers were already in strike mode when they wrote this. In retrospect, episode 2.22 would have served as a better season finale.

Kyle XY: Hello...

Wow! Another great Kyle XY episode that paved the way for what will surely be a rocking finale. What? You thought this was the finale because it's episode 2.22? ABC Family is actually treating us with a 23rd hour of XY this season! So expect to see the prom unfold, more Sarah and Jessi dealings, and surely more Latnok. In the meantime, let's deal with this week's Jessi-centric episode, "Hello..."

Kyle XY: Grey Matters

It smells like the season is almost over, no? Episodes are getting better and offer us a good crop of background info and mysteries (aka everything Sarah-related and Brian's end game). The most interesting storyline this week was probably that of Kyle exchanging messages with the "anonymous" person, tracking down Sarah and finally coming face to face with her. We've been waiting weeks for this reveal and it's finally here! You can bet that with the way the episode ended, episode 2.22 will be Sarah-centric.

Paul Gleason dead at 67
by Annie Wu, posted May 29th 2006 7:51AM
It's not often that a celebrity obituary throws me into such a sudden shock that I can't do anything but stare blankly at the screen for several minutes. Well, this is one of them. Actor Paul Gleason passed away on Saturday from a rare form of asbestos-related lung cancer. He was 67 years-old. Gleason has appeared in various television roles, but he's probably most recognized as the vicious Principal Vernon from The Breakfast Club. The film has a very special place in my heart because when my friends and I have to dress up in costume for something, we always go as the Club (and I'm always the Basketcase). This news is really quite upsetting. Time for me to break the news to the rest of my Breakfast Club.
