Murder Brings Nick and Maureen Together on 'The Playboy Club' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 20th 2011 7:15AM
Amid a storm of controversy based more on the name of the show and its magazine association than its content, 'The Playboy Club' (Mon., 10PM ET on NBC) premiered with a mystery and a pretty damned good Jon Hamm impersonation. It's one thing to try and capture the cool swagger of 'Mad Men's Don Draper in a show set in the same decade, but Eddie Cibrian mimicked everything from his icy cool gaze to the pitch, tone and even cadence of his speech.
If this were 'Saturday Night Live,' we'd be applauding the impression, but we're supposed to take him seriously here. Cibrian did start to find his own voice as the episode progressed, which was encouraging and far less distracting.

Ready for more 'Futurama'? You should be, because Katey Sagal -- Leela herself -- is saying season 8 is a go.According to Vulture, the recent Golden Globe winner spilled the beans at the Directors Guild of America Awards.
"'Futurama' just got ordered again for another season," Sagal said. "I don't know if I'm supposed to say that yet. But it just did."
While Comedy Central has not made an official statement, Vulture reports the show's studio, 20th Century Fox TV, has been talking to voice actors to make sure they'd be on board. However, no official negotiations have taken place.

Hidden Palms to end sooner
by Isabelle Carreau, posted Jun 14th 2007 1:07PM
I don't know if I had a premonition, but when I watched the Hidden Palms screener last summer I predicted that the series wouldn't last long. The CW somewhat made my prediction come true earlier this week when they announced the series would wrap up sooner.Hidden Palms was first slated to be a mid-season show and 13 episodes had been ordered. During production, the show's episode number was lowered to 8 and CW decided to keep it for the summer.
Hidden Palms - an early look
by Kevin Kelly, posted Jan 11th 2007 1:06PM

When I first started watching The CW's yet-to-be-scheduled midseason replacement Hidden Palms, the first thing I said was "O.C. RIPOFF!" Then I realized that I'd said it out loud, because I was sitting in a Starbucks watching it on my laptop, trying to look like a writer-type at work. After I mumbled an "Oops, sorry ..." I screwed my earbuds back in and gave it another whirl. After two episodes, I have to say I'm sucked in and want to see more. Curse you, Kevin Williamson.
