Corey Monteith Has a Record Deal, 'Real Housewife' Writing Advice Book & More TV News

by Jean Bentley, posted Jun 23rd 2011 6:40PM
Glee, Cory MonteithOf all the Gleeks, Corey Monteith is probably the last you'd consider for a solo record deal.

Yet the man otherwise known as 16-year-old Finn on Fox's 'Glee' talked to Parade magazine about his solo deal with Columbia Records in an article due out this weekend.

"I have a solo deal with Columbia Records. So it's about, do I want to release an album, when can we do it, what kind of album should it be, how should it be released and marketed and what's the right timing? Do I have time to do it?," Monteith told the magazine. "It's all about questions."

Then again, Monteith is a talented drummer, so perhaps his potential album would feature less singing and more drumming. Would you listen to a Monteith-only record?

Five Shows for the Bad Economy

by Jean Bentley, posted Dec 19th 2010 4:00PM
'The Apprentice'Countdown to Festivus on Dec. 23: On the fifth day of Festivus, TV gave to us ... five shows for the bad economy.

Television networks have been tapping into that collective thriftiness this year with seemingly countless shows about bargain-hunting, turning trash to treasure, and pawn shops. For some reason, there are lots and lots of shows about pawn shops. Here are five shows for the frugal viewer.

'American Pickers': Five Reasons to Watch

by Chris Jordan, posted Aug 29th 2010 6:00PM
You meet the darndest people on the History Channel hit 'American Pickers.'

Take Hobo Jack, a collector -- or hoarder, if you will -- whom 'AP' hosts Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz visited during the Aug. 16 episode of the show. Jack lives a reclusive lifestyle in southern Illinois on a spread of land overflowing with things he's collected over a span of 60 years.

There's a lot of Victorian era statuary on his sprawling property, which is overgrown with weeds. "I want to build a Victorian mansion," said Jack, who has a long gray beard, a plaid shirt and an acoustic guitar. "I'm offended by the appearance of modernity.''

'American Pickers' follows Wolfe and Fritz as they buy antiques and collectibles from private homes then sell their loot for profit.
