Six Flags guy speaks, scares people

by Bob Sassone, posted May 25th 2009 12:25PM
What's creepier than that dancing old Six Flags guy? A talking, dancing old Six Flags guy. They have him speaking in those amusement park ads now (at least this is the first year I've seen him speak in regional ads in my area), and I'm not sure if that's a good thing. More flags, more fun, more scary!

CSI: Magic Mountain - it's true

by Allison Waldman, posted Feb 27th 2008 1:01PM
CSIIt doesn't take a rocket scientist, let alone a forensic specialist, to detect that the CSI franchise is hot. CBS currently boasts three shows with CSI in the title -- CSI, CSI: Miami, CSI: New York -- four if you include the non-Jerry Bruckheimer produced military procedural NCIS. So, then, it shouldn't come as a surprise that CSI is expanding. No, there's not a new CSI TV show happening, but there is an amusement park variation on CSI coming to life at Magic Mountain, the Valencia, California tourist attraction. (By the way, isn't it nice that Valencia didn't get nuked for real like it did on 24 last season?)

Hanna-Barbera fliers from 1972

by Adam Finley, posted Feb 2nd 2006 3:25PM

Since I loves me some old timey cartoons I thought these old opening day fliers for Kings Island in Cincinnati were pretty awesome. Yeah, they're just pamphlets, but they feature the Hanna-Barbera characters who apparently roamed the park when they weren't on television. The fliers are from 1972. Nowadays it's the characters of Nickelodeon who represent the park. I suppose that works, too.I don't tend to keep close tabs on amusement parks, but until now I was unaware that Hanna-Barbera was ever associated with a theme park. I guess one can learn new things everyday, sometimes decades after the fact.
