Kimmel Uncovers a Horrible, Embarrassing Photo of Amy Poehler (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Jan 27th 2011 5:50AM
Amy Poehler's Old Photo on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'Jimmy Kimmel happily shared a hideous photo of Amy Poehler when she visited 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC). A younger version of the comedienne is wearing a headband and schoolgirl's pinafore. She appears to be leaning against an old metal headboard and posing with a bouquet of flowers.

Poehler cackled and explained the embarrassing image. "In my 20s ... to make money, we would either give blood or we would do this thing in Chicago ... When you buy a picture frame -- that's the weird stuff that comes in it," she said pointing to the photo. "I look like a sociopath who's gonna smother a man with a pillow." The host remarked, "You look like you're 11!"

Get Ready for 'Parks and Recreation' in IMAX and 3D! (Not Really)

by Chris Harnick, posted Dec 30th 2010 4:00PM
Nick Offerman, Parks and RecreationThat noise you hear? It's a collective sigh of relief from fans of 'Parks and Recreation' who are eagerly awaiting the show's return on Jan. 20 at 9:30PM on NBC. Less than a month to go!

After months without earnest Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), sarcastic April Ludgate (Aubrey Plaza) and the charming Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), the gang from Pawnee are making their way back to TV. NBC has been rolling out sweet commercials, but this video that originally appeared on Vulture in October still has us LLOLing (literally laughing out loud).

Poehler, Offerman, Aziz Ansari and new cast member Adam Scott believe their show is going 'Seinfeld' and will be shot in IMAX and 3D. Sit back and watch the vintage (two months is vintage in this industry!) video below.

Amy Poehler Kisses Justin Timberlake on 'SNL'As she kicked off her hosting duties of 'Saturday Night Live' (Sat., 11:30PM ET on NBC), Amy Poehler confessed to having stress dreams in the days when she was an 'SNL' staffer. Cast members past and present helpfully demonstrated with a dream sequence chock-full of celebrity cameos.

After run-ins with Fred Armisen and Kristen Wiig, Poehler was asked by Justin Timberlake if she wanted to rehearse their kissing scene. "Yes, I would love to," she (of course!) replied.

'Saturday Night Live' Amy Poehler/Katy Perry Recap

by Dr. Ryan Vaughan, PhD (no, seriously), posted Sep 26th 2010 11:30AM
'Saturday Night Live'['SNL' - 'S36 E01']

Why do little girls dream about becoming dancers and veterinarians (or dancing veterinarians) when they have someone like Amy Poehler to be their role model? Who wouldn't want to be a member of an influential improv comedy group (Upright Citizens Brigade) then become a cast member on 'Saturday Night Live,' only to later star in their own sitcom and achieve comedy's holy grail as the host of 'Saturday Night Live'?

I can't answer that, but I can tell you that I never wished I was a girl more than while watching Amy Poehler host the show's 36th season premiere. Then Katy Perry made me wish I was a man again.

Amy Poehler Serenades Rashida Jones, Jimmy Fallon Serenades ... Questlove? (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Sep 24th 2010 6:19AM
Amy Poehler Serenades Rashida Jones; Jimmy Fallon Serenades ... Questlove? On 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), comedienne Amy Poehler expressed her "love" for Rashida Jones, her 'Parks and Recreation' co-star. But then, Amy's enthusiasm turned out to be kind of ... infectious. And not in a good way. More like infectious in a creepy way.

After Poehler declared her love for Rashida, host Jimmy Fallon became overtaken by the spirit of romance. Who did he express his undying passion for? Questlove, the 39-year-old male drummer for The Roots, Jimmy's house band. "I love ... Questlove," he said, in a slightly too intense tone of voice.

Amy PoehlerWe knew she couldn't stay away from 'Saturday Night Live' for too long.

Seven-year 'SNL' veteran Amy Poehler will return to host the show's 36th season premiere on Sept. 25 along with musical guest Katy Perry, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Will Arnett Talks About His New Son, and Wife Amy Poehler's C-SectionActor Will Arnett appeared on 'Late Show With David Letterman' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS), and he had one burning topic on his mind. And that topic was ... babies! Mr. Arnett has just had a second son. Well, actually, his wife Amy Poehler had it. Will just more sort of stood around in the delivery room, as guys tend to do.

Amy gave birth via a C-Section -- which is a very private fact that her husband was cool with mentioning on national TV. We're sure that Amy will be pleased. And here are some other unique and bizarre facts about Arnett's new son, as told to David Letterman ...

Emmy Picks: Best Lead Actress in a Comedy

by Joel Keller, posted Aug 24th 2010 11:25AM
The nominees for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy at the 2010 Emmys
With the Emmy awards less than a week away, I'm continuing to pick who I think should and who I think will win the major awards.

Yesterday, I discussed the Best Lead Actor in a Drama category. Today we look at the comedy side of the ledger and the Best Lead Actress in a Comedy category.

Toni Collette, 'United States of Tara'
Edie Falco, 'Nurse Jackie'
Tina Fey, '30 Rock'
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, 'The New Adventures of Old Christine'
Lea Michele, 'Glee'
Amy Poehler, 'Parks and Recreation'

Who will win:
When I saw that Edie Falco had submitted the pilot for 'Nurse Jackie,' it hit me that she didn't get nominated for the show last year. Since the pilot aired about a week after the 2010 eligibility period started, the Academy has had well over a year to ruminate over Falco's strong out-of-the-gate performance in that pilot, where the entire web of lies Jackie has set up get revealed in a quick 30 minutes. Considering her Emmy history -- seven nominations, three wins -- it's very easy to see Falco standing on stage with the Emmy this year.

Betty White Sings on 'Saturday Night Live' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted May 9th 2010 10:50PM
Betty White Sings on 'Saturday Night Live'Well, it finally happened. Due to an enormous Facebook-based campaign, Betty White got to be the host of 'Saturday Night Live' (Sat., 11:30PM ET on NBC). On the show, old and new cast members tried to demonstrate their appreciation for the 88-year-old actress by singing their version of 'Thank You for Being a Friend' -- the theme song from White's hit sitcom 'The Golden Girls.' Which was really a very sweet gesture.

But then, White struck back by singing her own version of the song. It turned out to be a little more ... hardcore than what the cast members did. Sometimes, mere words can fail to accurately describe an experience. In this case, only by listening to the song itself can you truly feel the awesome power of Betty White.

The Proposal on 'Parks and Recreation' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted May 6th 2010 10:50PM
The Proposal on 'Parks and Recreation'What's the most stress-inducing way to propose marriage? Well, you could ask someone to marry you in front of a huge audience at a major sporting event. Or you could ask someone to marry you during a live television broadcast. The second option is the one that's attempted on 'Parks and Recreation' (Thu., 8:30PM ET on NBC). As you might expect, it doesn't go that well.
