Who Made the Finals on 'America's Next Top Model'? (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Nov 18th 2010 5:30AM
'America's Next Top Model' Names 2 FinalistsCycle 15 of 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 8PM ET on CW) has slowly whittled the 14 model wannabes down to four. But following the "motion editorial" challenge, Tyra Banks halved the competition by eliminating two contestants in one episode.

The judges have favored Ann throughout the cycle, so she was far from a surprise pick to remain in the competition. Banks called her name first and gave her some nondescript advice: "Whatever you're doing, continue to do that."

Kayla, Chelsey and Jane remained. Which one would make the finals? Check the clip.

'ANTM': Ann Can't Roller Skate, Falls Repeatedly in Commercial (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Oct 28th 2010 9:20AM
Ann Can't Roller Skate on 'America's Next Top Model'The following clip makes us wonder if the application for 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 8PM ET on CW) asks which sport/activity you most suck at, and then the producers create a challenge around your answer. Ann -- who recently set a four-consecutive-wins record, can not roller skate.

And yet the commercial challenge requires her to talk about a product while skating. "I'm just worried that I'm going to crash ... They're a lot of people around that are gonna laugh," says Ann. With camera rolling, she nervously delivers an ironic line: "Looking great on the outside starts with feeling good on the inside," then stands up for the moment of truth. "That's why I drink--" and the poor girl plummets to the concrete.

Take after take, she fails to stay upright, and the knee and shoulder pads don't help her confidence. It's an extremely painful experience for her -- emotionally and physically.

Nigel Barker on 'Top Model,' His New Book, and Shooting a Naked Tyra Banks

by Chris Jancelewicz, posted Oct 5th 2010 3:45PM
Nigel Barker has been immersed in the fashion industry for most of his life – he's gone from model to photographer to 'America's Next Top Model' judge – and now he's adding 'author' to his CV. Barker has decided to step out from behind the camera and discuss the issue of true beauty, something he knows plenty about, in his book 'Nigel Barker's Beauty Equation: Revealing a Better and More Beautiful You.'

Barker has been on 'ANTM' since the second season, and is the only person to stay on as a judge for 15 cycles. TV Squad caught up with the British charmer to talk about his modeling career, how 'ANTM' has changed, and his first photo shoot with Tyra Banks (she was nude).

'America's Next Top Model' Cycle 15: Meet the Contestants

by Jean Bentley, posted Aug 19th 2010 6:00PM
Tyra BanksIt's hard to believe that we're now on the 15th iteration of 'The Tyra Banks Show' 'America's Next Top Model' -- it's been a long, catfight-filled road since the show's debut in 2003.

To shake things up for 'Top Model's crystal anniversary, this season will focus on all things high fashion. (Does that mean we won't have to hear Tyra complain that the girls are "too commercial," or that we'll hear it even more?) Along with its classed-up image, 'ANTM' has upped the stakes. The winner will now appear on 'Vogue Italia' instead of 'Seventeen.' Maybe it's new judge André Leon Talley's influence?

In advance of the show's Sept. 8 premiere, The CW released a series of videos on its YouTube account yesterday introducing the 14 new contestants to their adoring public. (Side note: Whoa, there are now more cycles than girls competing!) Join us after the jump to take a first look at who's still in the running towards becoming America's Next Top Model.

Angelea Acts Weird on 'America's Next Top Model' (VIDEO)

Angelea Acts Weird on 'America's Next Top Model'On 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 8PM ET on The CW), the six remaining contestants flew off to New Zealand. There, they visited fashion designers --and also hung out with a sheep. Yes, they really did do a photo shoot involving a sheep. But amazingly, that wasn't the strangest part of the episode.

Surprise Destination on 'ANTM'Every cycle of 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 8PM ET on CW), when the contestants have been whittled down to a mere few model wanna-bes, they are whisked away to a foreign country to continue competing in an exotic locale. And every cycle Tyra Banks has a cheesy way of revealing where they get to go.

'America's Next Top Model' - 'Big Hair Day' Recap

by Michael Pascua, posted Apr 21st 2010 9:00PM
(S14E07) I thought I had reached my quota of hair growing out of a woman's breasts this season with 'Project Runway,' but 'America's Next Top Model' just trumped Amy's hairy breast outfit by miles. This week, between the drama at the house and a drag Tyra Banks, the girls had to make full dresses made out of hair look good. Sadly, most of them looked horrible, but Tyra and her judging panel were not looking at the same photos as I was.

'America's Next Top Model' - 'New York Women' Recap

Angelea's covergirl shoot(S14E06) It's a house divided on 'America's Next Top Model.' On one side are all the girls who speak their mind, on the other are the white girls who choose to talk smack in confessionals. Somewhere in the middle, Alexandra is in the kitchen convinced she's amazing. Did Alexandra even show up on this episode?

Angelea was hell-bent on getting a good photo in this episode that didn't scream tranny, and she surprised me. Luckily, to keep the balance, she brought a lot of drama to the episode. When Tyra cast her, she knew what she was doing. Her photos still aren't as strong as Jessica or Reina, but she's improving week after week, while also stirring the pot.

'America's Next Top Model' - 'Smile and Pose' Recap

Angalea looks like she is in her comfort zone
(S14E05) When 'America's Next Top Model' starts off with a statement about drinking pickle juice and bodily functions, you know there will be something really odd about the episode. Anslee continues to cry through most of the episode, but fortunately for her, Tyra isn't done with airing her emotions on the show, and she doesn't even land in the bottom three.

My biggest concern for this show is the fact that Angelea gets high amounts of praise for looking heavily transsexual. I'm not sure if I get her whole appeal. Whereas Cycle 8 winner Jaslene could look drag, she understood her angles and fixed her chin by the end. Angelea still hasn't been given enough criticism about looking more feminine and could be the winner for 'RuPaul's Drag Race.'

Alasia and Anslee Fight on 'America's Next Top Model' (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Apr 1st 2010 2:32AM
America's Next Top Model Remind us ... how old are the girls on 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 8PM ET on The CW)? Because they seem like they're about twelve years old. No, we take that back. We don't know any 12-year-olds who behave as badly as these girls.

Things got pretty heated when Alasia slammed Anslee's parenting skills. And really, that's about the lowest blow you can give a mom. Parents already have enough of that bad-parenting guilt going on inside their own head.

'America's Next Top Model' - 'America's Next Top Vampire' Recap

Krista channels her inner vampire on Top Model.
(S14E04) This week on 'America's Next Top Model,' Tyra banks decided to continue trying to be current by realizing that people like vampires. At least it was a step more current than her MySpace parody in the first episode. It makes me wonder if people will find bloody vampires as controversial as the dead model photoshoot in Cycle Eight, or is there a double standard with vampires?

Speaking of vampires, Tyra continues to suck the souls of her contestants. This week, Brenda was forced to change her hair yet again. Instead of soccer mom, Brenda's sides were buzzed to give her more of a faux-hawk look.

Alexandra strikes a pose on ANTM
(S14E03) I find it amusing when two shows start bleeding into each other. This week 'America's Next Top Model' borrowed 'Project Runway's' sponsor Bluefly.com. Granted, this isn't the first time crossover has happened between the two shows. Previous contestants like Dani (Cycle 6), Bianca (Cycle 9), and Anya (Cycle 10) have modeled for contestants on their final runway shows. Because of that, I got several commercials for Bluefly.com with Anthony announcing "Period" each time.

Ren continued to self-eliminate herself throughout the episode, and yet didn't have the guts to actually quit. Tyra must be annoyed that the person that she hand picked didn't succeed.

Alexandra Falls Twice on 'America's Next Top Model' (VIDEO)

America's Next Top Model, Alexandra Falls TwiceIf there's anything worse for a model than falling on the runway, it's falling twice. How humiliating. It happened to Alexandra on 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 8PM ET on The CW), but she managed to pull herself together both times.

But whoever dreamed up those hideous pendulums on the runway? They should be forced to run the gauntlet themselves. What a nightmare.

'America's Next Top Model' - 'Drekitude' Recap

Anslee models a purse on ANTM

(S14E02) We continue 'America's Next Top Model' from last week's photoshoot cliffhanger. The nude photoshoot goes off without much of a hitch about religious morals or modesty. Either way, the shoot was borrowed from a challenge on 'Make Me a Supermodel' which had the same exact concept. The second photoshoot continues to stretch the definition of what a beauty shot is. Beauty shots should be zoomed in even closer than what we saw.

We saw the new and improved opening sequence; it's going to take me a while to get adjusted to it. It's still Tyra-centric and now with a 70s/funk vibe. This episode was also 90 minutes long, which threw off the tempo of the show. I was waiting for the show to end, but it just kept going. Speaking of editing choices, why isn't last season's winner Nicole in the CoverGirl lounge?

Tyra Banks Gets Freaky Over Glamazonia on 'America's Next Top Model' (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 11th 2010 2:57AM
America's Next Top Model, Tyra BanksThings got extremely freaky on 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 8PM ET on The CW) when plus-sized model (really?) Jeanne explained Glamazonia, a planet she created in her own mind.

Tyra Banks then made Jay Manuel lie down on the floor and, well, we're not sure what happened next. Let's just hope the aliens aren't watching. Then again, if they are, they'll likely steer their ships to a galaxy far, far away.
