The Simpsons vs. 'Melrose Place': Which Side Are You On?
by Chris Jordan, posted Nov 3rd 2009 3:00PM
It's the Simpsons (the family, not the Fox animated series) vs. 'Melrose Place' -- and it's starting to get ugly.Very ugly.
The latest salvo: Today, an anonymous source from the show blasted Ashlee Simpson-Wentz on Fox411, claiming that "Ashlee was kicked off 'Melrose Place' because she was a total diva on set, late all the time, and deeply disliked by fellow cast members.''
Simpson-Wentz has been under fire all week. Yesterday, another anonymous 'Melrose'-er told US Mag that the show hired her "because they needed a good name to help create buzz but she was embarrassingly bad. Producers cut her down as much as possible.''

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Colin Egglesfield Exiting 'Melrose Place'
by Andrew Scott, posted Oct 22nd 2009 6:05PM
Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Colin Egglesfield are moving out of 'Melrose Place.'In an exclusive new interview with the Ausiello Files, executive producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer revealed that Simpson-Wentz and Egglesfield will exit the show after the murder-mystery plot wraps in episode 12. Moving forward, this will make room for a number of changes to be made at the infamous apartment complex.
Among the changes you can expect to see: a slew of new characters, including a carefree, funny and yet-to-be-cast doctor who crosses paths with Lauren (Stephanie Jacobsen), according to Slavkin. And with the murder plotline out of the way, the original characters will finally be able to enjoy themselves -- which, based on the original 'Melrose,' probably means they'll be having lots and lots of sex.
Mischa Barton has not missed work on The Beautiful Life - TCA Report
by Joel Keller, posted Aug 4th 2009 7:49PM
When Ashton Kutcher, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Elle Macpherson and the rest of the panel for Kutcher's CW show The Beautiful Life, I was figuring the panel would field nothing but questions about Mischa Barton, given the recent publicity over her hospitalization and other personal issues. Surprisingly, though, the critics actually wanted to focus on the show itself, which is about the lives of young models and how they deal with the various pressures of that lifestyle. However, in the middle of the panel, a Barton question did come up. Kutcher was quick to defend the actress, saying she was "never unavailable for a day of work." With all the young people in the cast, he thinks the "good thing about Mischa is that she's done it before," and can provide guidance.

Happy or not that The CW will air a new version of Melrose Place, you must admit that you'll at least watch the premiere out of curiosity, especially if you watched the first show.Tidbits about the show released these past weeks will have viewers tune in to know how the show will revive Sydney, a very much dead character played by Laura Leighton on the original series.
If that mystery is not enough to get you to tune in on Tuesday, September 8 at 9 p.m., maybe the new spoilers and casting information below will.
Warning! Spoilers coming up!
Am I the only one excited about Ashlee Simpson-Wentz on Melrose Place?
by Kona Gallagher, posted Mar 9th 2009 3:04PM
I've never seen Ashlee Simpson-Wentz act. I know she played a janitor or something on 7th Heaven, but I kind of missed the entire eleven-year run of that series. I've also never purchased and Ashlee Simpson album, so while I have heard her sing, or you know, not sing, I can't say I'm a huge fan. So I don't really know why I'm excited to hear she's joining the cast of CW's revamped Melrose Place, but I am.I watched the original Melrose Place off and on, and while it was perfect mid-90s soapy goodness, I don't really feel that there's a burning need for its return. However, the new 90210 is doing pretty well for the fledgling CW, so I certainly can't blame them for taking the next logical step in bringing back its spinoff.
