'Pretty Little Liars' Stars Tease Next Week's Season Finale

by Breia Brissey, posted Mar 14th 2011 1:00PM
Pretty Little Liars, Shay Mitchell, Ashley Benson, Troian BellisarioAs it turns out, the stars of 'Pretty Little Liars' really can keep a secret.

TV Squad caught up with Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, and Shay Mitchell at ABC Family's upfront event last week, and all three ladies were frustratingly silent on what fans can expect during next week's season finale.

"All of the girls have dealt with so much the entire season, but nothing will compare to what they have to deal with in the season finale," said Mitchell, who plays Emily. "And I am talking slow because I totally could tell you everything. But that would ruin it, and I'm not going to. So I have to be very careful in what I say. But it's going to end with a bang."

Fortunately, after a little bit of coaxing the ladies finally dropped a few hints about what will take place during 'For Whom The Bell Tolls.' Benson, who stars as Hanna, specifically said the last five minutes are a must see. "All four girls are put at high risks. We're pushed to our limits. We go through this huge obstacle course," she said. "I really can't tell you too much, but the last five minutes are unreal. You get very close to knowing who 'A' is. Insane things happen!"

'Pretty Little Liars': We Move Closer to Learning the Identity of 'A'Who is "A'?

[Spoiler alert.]

All season long, the series 'Pretty Little Liars' (Tue., 8PM ET on ABC) has been occupied with a single question. And like we said, the question is this: Who ... is ... "A"?

"A" is the mysterious person who threatens to reveal the girls' darkest secrets. "A" constantly texts and attacks the girls. But no one knows who this "A" person actually is.

On the latest episode, the girls go away to camp for a birthday party; which is an activity called "glamping." (That means "glamour" mashed up with "camping.") And while they're away, the identity of "A" becomes more clear.

'Pretty Little Liars' Finale Scoop: 'We're Left With a Huge Cliffhanger,' Says Ashley Benson

by Jean Bentley, posted Aug 10th 2010 2:20PM
Ashley BensonIf you're expecting some answers on tonight's summer finale of 'Pretty Little Liars,' well, you might be waiting awhile.

When we spoke with 'Pretty Little Liars' star Ashley Benson last week, the words "huge cliffhanger" came into play more than once. Though the actress did reveal that we'll get more clues as to who's been harassing the Rosewood ladies about their dirty secrets and their friend Alison's death, we won't actually find out much.

Want to know who A is? Too bad, you're going to have to wait. Want to know what happened to Toby? You're out of luck on that one, too. Want to know who killed Allison? Forget about it. Loathe to spoil the mystery surrounding the cliffhanger, Benson wouldn't even spill much about that, either, so you'll have to wait until the episode airs tonight to learn more.

Here's what we do know: "In the mid-season finale we're left with a huge cliffhanger," she said. "I don't know what's going to happen with that, because it's huge. We'll see what happens [next season], but I have no idea. I'm so anxious to see what the writers came up with."

Read on for the rest of the hints Benson gave us about tonight's finale.

Ashley Benson on 'Pretty Little Liars': 'Everybody Who's Anyone Watches It'

by Jean Bentley, posted Aug 3rd 2010 5:00PM
Ashley BensonIf you love scandalous high school dramas and you're not watching ABC Family's 'Pretty Little Liars,' you probably should be. (Didn't you read our post earlier?) But if you're not going to take our word for it, listen to star Ashley Benson, who plays popular, blond Hanna, one of the titular liars. "[The show] is just so catchy," she said. "The characters are great and there are cute guys and girls." Plus, she added, "the whole mystery of it all keeps you wanting more."

'Pretty Little Liars,' based on a series of YA novels by Sara Shepard, follows a group of teenage girls as they try to figure out who murdered their friend Alison. At the same time, they're being threatened via text message by an anonymous blackmailer named "A" who happens to know every single one of their juicy secrets -- one girl's having a steamy affair with her English teacher, another is hiding a budding romance with the new girl in town. It makes for some pretty edgy subject matter, especially for ABC Family.

After the jump, find out what secrets Benson spilled about the show, including the surprising origin of the creepy theme song, tackling taboo story lines and being an outcast herself.

Four Reasons Why 'Pretty Little Liars' Will Be a Hit

by Jane Boursaw, posted Apr 19th 2010 9:00PM
Pretty Little Liars, ABC FamilyIf you have a tween girl in the house, you're probably aware of at least a few shows airing on ABC Family -- 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager,' 'Make It or Break It,' and '10 Things I Hate About You' spring to mind.

The network has a new show premiering June 8 that looks to grab some of that audience. 'Pretty Little Liars' sounds like a cross between 'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,' 'Desperate Housewives,' and 'Gossip Girl.' But it also looks pretty good. Here are four reasons why this show will be a hit.
