Elvis Presley's Cadillac, 'Auction Kings'At 70 years old, Doug has amassed an impressive collection of classic cars. But one of his prize pieces is a 1975 Cadillac that was bought by Elvis Presley off the showroom floor brand new.

It was an impressive piece, and one that Paul Brown was more than happy to take for a test drive on 'Auction Kings' (Tue., 9PM ET on Discovery).

When he asked Doug why he'd sell such a great car, Doug's reply was simple and very sweet. "Me and my wife are retiring and I'm hoping to get rid of all my antique cars," he explained. And then later in a confessional he elaborated. "The money I get is gonna go straight to my wife and I hope she spends it any way she wants to."

Doug was hoping to score about $12,000 for the Caddilac, but he did even better at auction. The final bid came in at $16,750, which should by his wife a lot of ... well, whatever she wants it to buy!

John Wilkes Booth mention, 'Auction Kings'There's something very romantic about letters and written accounts from pivotal times in history. It's like reaching back and being there when you read them. On 'Auction Kings' (Tue., 9PM ET on Discovery), Paul Brown got to see some Civil War letters and diaries with a special bonus of historical significance.

Historians love first-person accounts from the Civil War, but these letters went that extra step by mentioning John Wilkes Booth. The letter was dated three years prior to Booth's assassination of President Lincoln, so it was simply a genuine statement about his fame as an actor.

"I had no idea really that Boothe was that well known as an actor," Brown said. "Evidently, he was."

Jim Morrison poem, 'Auction Kings'Tattoo Bob found himself homeless after serving our country in Desert Storm. He wound up staying at a storage unit, and while there he discovered a unique collectible. He brought it in for analysis and shared his story on 'Auction Kings' (Tue., 9PM ET on Discovery).

The item is a hand-written and signed poem by Jim Morrison. Bob had managed to track down The Doors' manager Danny Sugarman, who authenticated the find, and even praised the quality of the signature.

Bob was hoping to score $1,000 for the item, but when it went to auction he was thrilled to double his expectations, scoring $2,000. That's a pretty good return on an item he got for free out of a box labeled 'JUNK.' You just never know what's out there.
