FOX to offer Sarah Connor Chronicles marathon this August

by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 10th 2008 11:41AM

The Sarah Connor ChroniclesIt's a rare thing when one of the major networks takes up an hour of its schedule almost every single night of the week to air the same show, but that's exactly what FOX is going to do this August.

The network is going to run a marathon of the first season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles starting on Sunday, August 10 at 9pm. Then the other episodes from the first season, in order, will air at 9pm on August 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 24. The two-hour second season premiere then airs on September 8 at 8pm.

Teen Choice Awards air in August

by Adam Finley, posted May 10th 2007 3:04PM

trainAre you a teenager? Do you like choosing things? Okay, good, because Teen Choice 2007 airs on FOX August 26 at 8:00 p.m., and we need to make sure you're at home that evening to see what series, celebrities and movies your contemporaries have chosen.

Teens have been choosing things for years. I myself have chosen my own adventure, Chosen or Losened (I'll check the dictionary to see if that's a real word later), and I've spoken to choosy moms who choose Jif. I've also had choice cuts of meat, and chosen Pikachu on numerous occasions.

Nominees and hosts for Teen Choice 2007 will be announced soon, but that's not important. What's important is that all you hula-hoopin', Charleston-dancin', domino-playin' teens out there start using your God-given right to choose. Or, more importantly, let your peers decide for you what's cool. Otherwise, you'll show up at your next ice cream social without a poodle skirt and then you'll look really stupid.

The WB to burn off eps of Just Legal in August

by Joel Keller, posted Jul 31st 2006 11:04AM
Just LegalFor the three people who were fans of last fall's WB bomb Just Legal, which was cancelled after three episodes, you can now rest easy; the soon-to-be-defunct network has decided to burn off the remaning five episodes of the show. According to this article on The Futon Critic, the network will show the pilot, then the unaired episodes, every Sunday at 7 PM ET starting August 6.

I guess they're showing the pilot to remind everyone what the show was about. I can give it to you in eight words: Don Johnson. Old lawyer. Young lawyer. Wackiness ensues. There. Now you can free up another summer Sunday and go to the beach.

A rep tells People magazine, "Mother and baby are doing wonderfully. She is ecstatic--over the moon." Her website also has the announcement, but no photo.

The Simpsons season eight out August 15

by Adam Finley, posted May 12th 2006 12:06PM

homer simpsonWell, it's time to start shifting all my DVDs over again to make room for yet another Simpsons collection. According to TVShowsOnDVD (via ToonZone), the eighth season of the show will be out on August 15. Like the last two sets, this one will also come in a "head case," this time shaped like Maggie's head. If you're like me and prefer something more "shelf friendly" you can also purchase the less fancy regular-shaped box.

Death Clock Metalocalypse teaser

by Adam Finley, posted Apr 25th 2006 12:02PM
devil signIf you never saw Home Movies, you missed one of the best shows to hit the airwaves in the last several years, animated or otherwise. The show fared okay on Adult Swim for a short time, after being rescued from UPN, but viewers gravitated toward weirder shows like Space Ghost and Aqua Teen, leaving Home Movies to eventually whither and fall off the vine. Well, as I mentioned before, creator Brendon Small is bringing a new show to Adult Swim in August called Death Clock Metalocalypse. The new show is about a world-famous death metal band and may seem a far cry from Small's other show about a shy but quick-witted kid who makes movies with his friends, but Small's love of RAWK was evident even on that show, especially in the form of older kid Dwayne and his garage band. Death Clock Metalocalypse sounds like the perfect mix of over-the-top, ear-busting chord thrashing mixed with the same dry and subtle humor as his earlier work. YouTube has an extended teaser for the new series, which you can watch after the jump. I've seen segments of this teaser on Adult Swim, but I'm not sure if they've ever played the whole thing or not. Enjoy, regardless.

Tale Spin and Darkwing Duck coming to DVD

by Adam Finley, posted Apr 19th 2006 3:36PM
darkwing duckIn August, two of my favorite after school cartoons from my middle school days will be coming out on DVD. Darkwing Duck, a sorta spin-off of Duck Tales which focused on an undercover crime-fighting duck who fought a menagerie of villains a la Dick Tracy, is tentatively set for an August 29 release. In addition, Tale Spin, which took some of the characters from The Jungle Book and made them part of a global delivery service led by Baloo the Bear, will also be released in late August, though we don't know what the exact release date of that will be, either. Actually, I'm not sure how much I ever really got into Tale Spin, I think it was just part of the block of shows I watched. I loved Darkwing Duck, however, and always found it to be quite clever.
