'One Tree Hill' Star Sophia Bush Talks Twitter and the Continuing Crisis in the Gulf
Last week, we threw the spotlight on a number of CW actors who are dedicated to making a difference to our world through charitable contributions and random acts of kindness. One such star was Sophia Bush, the vivacious actress who has portrayed Brooke Davis through seven seasons of 'One Tree Hill'. Previously wary of social media and its lack of privacy, Bush has recently joined the Twitter revolution and started her own blog in order to communicate with fans and share her inspiring passion for environmentalism and humanitarian aid.
TV Squad recently caught up with Bush to learn more about the charitable foundation she holds close to her heart, and to discover the ways in which we can all contribute to making the world a greener, cleaner place.
EXCLUSIVE! CW Stars Sophia Bush and Misha Collins Give Back
Everyone loves an underdog -- and in terms of ratings, few can deny that The CW often seems like a scrappy featherweight trapped in the primetime ring with four heavy-hitters. But when it comes to making a difference in the lives of fans and the public at large, (even those who are too impoverished to own a television), it seems as though the CW network might just be the undisputed heavyweight champion. (We're done with the boxing metaphors now, we promise.)
Whether it's raising money for the clean-up in the Gulf following BP's catastrophic oil spill, finding homes for abandoned dogs, aiding in the rebuilding of New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina or helping orphans in Haiti, the passion and dedication of the CW's stars is tireless and undeniably inspiring.
Over the weekend, TV Squad caught up with Sophia Bush of 'One Tree Hill' and 'Supernatural' star Misha Collins to discuss their latest charitable projects and give advice to anyone who wants to help change the world, one random act of kindness at a time.
John From Cincinnati arrested for DUI
OK, so the show isn't coming back, that's no reason to go out and get drunk.
Austin Nichols, who played the mysterious (was he still mysterious at the end? I stopped watching after three episodes) John on HBO's John From Cincinnati, was arrested in Jackson, MI at 2:30am for driving under the influence. According to TMZ.com, he was driving the wrong way down a one way street, was stopped by police who gave him a breathalyzer test after smelling alcohol, and brought to the police station.
The best part of this story is the mug shot. I mean, look at him. Doesn't he just look really John From Cincinnati-ish?

David Milch's John From Cincinatti - TCA Report
Fresh off of Deadwood (does anyone else think that left the air too soon?), David Milch and the cast presented their new surfing drama John From Cincinnati to the TCA. Most surprising was the fact that there are some mystical elements to the show ... although they weren't really elaborated on at the panel. The clips offered up contained scenes of levitation and a bird seeming to come back to life, but seeing them out of context makes us unsure to label them just yet.Milch did get a bit esoteric though, and said that the show takes place on "the edge of the coordinates of reality." It has a vague aura of Six Feet Under around it, even though the subjects are entirely different, and I tend to like shows that aren't laid out for you in black and white.
Rebecca De Mornay added to David Milch's new drama
When all that controversy was going on with Deadwood, one of the reasons that David Milch gave for the show not returning (other than the problems he was having with HBO) was that he was preparing a drama titled John From Cincinnati. Now that show is coming together quickly. Rebecca De Mornay has just been added to the cast, which includes Bruce Greenwood (she'll play his wife), Austin Nichols (he's John and he's from Cincinnati), and Brian Van Holt (from Threshold).
The HBO show is about the surfing world in southern California. Nichols is a rich guy who comes to the area to take surfing lessons, and Matt Winston plays another guy who is coming back to the area to get even with someone for something that was done wrong to him long ago.
