Teresa Giudice Tells 'The View': 'I Always Live Within My Means'
by Ryan McKee, posted Aug 3rd 2010 2:20PM
Bankruptcy is not just something that happens out of nowhere -- a serious life-altering event or a series of bad financial decisions have to occur. However, on yesterday morning's 'The View,' 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' star Teresa Giudice maintained that her family's bankruptcy was not their fault: The reason they don't have money is because of their tenants' inability to pay rent and a lawsuit from her husband's ex-partner.Giudice's statements seemed rehearsed. When the hosts ashed her to elaborate, she became flustered. In an moment of actual TV journalism, Elisabeth Hasselbeck pressed Giudice about whether her outrageous spending could be the problem.
Donald Trump Calls Rosie O'Donnell's Next TV Show 'A Failure'
by Allison Waldman, posted Mar 28th 2010 2:27PM
Donald Trump is nothing if not consistent. He hates Rosie O'Donnell and he's ready to tell you how much he does every chance he gets. He's hated her since she appeared on 'The View' and criticized him for some nonsense about the Miss USA pageant. That led to a feud of epic proportions, media-wise, and he won't let it die. This week when 'Extra' asked Trump about the proposed new Rosie O'Donnell syndicated show, he said, "She's a loser. Her other shows didn't do well, this one won't do well. Everything she touches is a failure, she's a failure."
Well, not exactly. Just because Donald Trump says it loudly and with lots of bluster, it doesn't make it true. Rosie's last daytime talk show was a monumental success. She won the Daytime Emmy five years in a row and retired from the program while it was second only to 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' in ratings.
Robert Blake is out of money
by Anna Johns, posted Feb 4th 2006 7:17PM
Not surprisingly,
the former Baretta star has filed for bankruptcy. Robert Blake owes his wife's children $30 million, because,
a little over two months ago, a civil court jury found he "intentionally caused" her death. However, he was
acquitted of killing his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, by a criminal jury in March. In his bankruptcy filing, Blake lists his debts as the $30 million judgment, $1.3 million in federal taxes, and $300,000 in state taxes. Last year, he paid his attorney $250,000 in legal fees- a price tag the attorney says he put a cap on. Blake's only assets are $100,000 and $500,000. He's currently sharing an apartment in San Fernando Valley with his publicist. One of his adult daughters has adopted the 5-year-old daughter he had with Bakley.
Lorraine Bracco: Still in Debt
by Jonathan Toomey, posted Jan 3rd 2006 1:04PM
I guess I missed this news, but back in 1999 Lorraine Bracco (she plays Dr. Melfi on The Sopranos) filed for
bankruptcy. Since then, she's paid off almost two million in debt but she still owes plenty in backtaxes and lawyer
fees. Her secret? Real
estate. Avoiding stocks, managing a real estate portfolio, and being cast in the HBO drama all helped her get back
on her feet. But can someone fill me in here on why she filed in the first place? Was there something she did that
knocked her into the hole?TV Squad Hot Topics
