Barbara Walters' 10 Most Fascinating People: Betty White Talks Sex and Death (VIDEO)
by Oliver Miller, posted Dec 10th 2010 10:30AM
Betty White is one of Barbara Walters' 10 most fascinating people of the year, so the journalist had a few questions for her.On 'Barbara Walters Presents the 10 Most Fascinating People of 2010' (Thu., 10PM ET on ABC), Ms. Walters sat down with the 88½-year-old actress. "I'm eighty-eight and three-quarters," Betty said at one point, correcting the host. Whoops. 88¾, then.
As Ms. White will soon be 90, one of the topics discussed was a little morbid, but slightly inevitable. "Do you think about age?" Barbara asked. This rapidly segued into a discussion about death itself, and here is what Betty had to say --
"My mother had a wonderful philosophy. She said, 'Nobody knows what happens at that moment of death.'" Betty then movingly stated that she thinks of death as being a mystery. She added that she was curious about it, saying that when her moment comes, she'll "know the secret."
Barbara Walters to interview Sarah Palin
by Danny Gallagher, posted Nov 4th 2009 7:03PM
If your TiVo or DVR can't get enough of the syrupy charm of the former Alaska governor, you might want to install a memory upgrade. Barbara Walters will do a sit down with Sarah Palin on the heels of her new memoir, Going Rogue, in a five-part series starting Nov. 17.
Five parts? Seriously? Wouldn't one suffice? She's only doing ONE interview with Oprah Winfrey and Oprah is the supreme overlord of the female television universe. Does "a five-part series with Sarah Palin" meet the textbook definition of overkill?
