Ladies of 'The View' Debate Health Care Bill (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Mar 22nd 2010 2:30PM
Now that President Obama's health care reform bill has been passed by the House of Representatives, we'd expect nothing less than a spirited debate from the ladies of 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated), and that's exactly what we got today.

Whoopi Goldberg strongly criticized Tea Party protesters of the health bill, who reportedly hurled racial epithets and spit at African-American congressmen, and who used anti-gay slurs to describe Barney Frank, an openly gay Representative from Massachusetts.

by Donald Deane, posted Mar 10th 2010 4:00PM
We hate to disagree with former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura, but his conspiracy theories on 9/11 just seem a little, well, out there. Today on 'The View' (weekdays syndicated), Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Barbara Walters criticized Ventura for his assertion that the Bush administration was somehow involved in the 9/11 terror attacks.

"That the government would deliberately kill 3,000 people, to accuse the President of this, because ... he's protecting oil interests, Governor, that's a terrible accusation to make," Walters said.

Vanessa Williams Bashes 'The Blind Side' on 'The View' (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Mar 8th 2010 1:30PM
'The Blind Side' may have earned several Academy Award nominations and a Best Actress win for Sandra Bullock last night, but Vanessa Williams is clearly no fan of the movie. Williams said on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated) that the film, which depicts a homeless African-American youngster who is adopted by an affluent white family, does little to improve race relations.

Williams argued that film only reinforces the notion that African-Americans need whites in order to succeed. "Here's another white family that has saved the day," she said, calling the film "another black story" in which "a white person comes in and lifts them up."

David Letterman, Barbara Walters, Top Ten ListBarbara Walters did the Top Ten List on 'Late Show With David Letterman' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS) to explain all the reasons why she won't be doing the Oscar specials any more.

She's got some good points. Everyone she wants to interview probably IS in rehab, and we're sure she's really tired of fending off George Clooney's clumsy advances. We'd be happy to take over for you on that score, Babs.
