EXCLUSIVE: Syfy Gives the Greenlight to Young Adama 'Battlestar' Spinoff; Movie, Possible Series to Come
by Maureen Ryan, posted Oct 22nd 2010 10:05AM
A few months ago, the Syfy network commissioned an online series called 'Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome,' a chronicle of the war experiences of young William Adama. The network liked Michael Taylor's script for the project so much that Syfy will air 'Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome' on the network as the pilot for a possible young Adama TV series.
Mark Stern, Syfy's executive vice president of original programming and the co-head of original content for Universal Cable Productions, said the network hoped to begin production on the pilot in Vancouver in early 2011.
"When we read Michael's script, it was so clearly a full-blown pilot for a series," Stern said in a Thursday interview. "The scope is fantastic and bigger, I think, than anticipated, so we said, 'Let's do it as a 2-hour backdoor pilot.' ... We're trying to get up and running as soon as possible."
Read on for more on 'Blood & Chrome' as well as a bit of news on 'Caprica,' another 'Battlestar Galactica' spinoff.
Listen All of Y'all, This is 'Battlestar Galactica'

Mash-ups are always an invitation to a good time, but this one is particular fun because it actually matches its counterpart particularly well. They either have a surgically implanted eagle's eyes or more time on their hands than Father Time.
Some crazed genius media nut out there has combined the shoot-em-up goodness of 'Battlestar Galactica' with the shoot-em-up goodness of the Beastie Boys' "Sabotage."

Battlestar Galactica + Queen = Battlestar Rhapsody

If you're anything like me (first of all, you have my deepest sympathy and secondly, some mild chafing down there is normal), you haven't had the patience to catch up with the brilliance that is Battlestar Galactica but that won't make this song any less funny.

Battlestar Galactica: Razor

Rather than have you sit through what basically would amount to a more detailed version of the Early Look post I did about Razor last month, I wanted to at least make sure you all had a forum of sorts to discuss the movie. I will, however, mention a few points worth mentioning again ...
BSG: Razor Flashback - The war is over - VIDEO
by Keith McDuffee, posted Nov 20th 2007 9:40AM
The Batlestar Galactica: Razor flashbacks conclude here. We've only got a few days more before the Razor movie hits the air, and even though I've already seen the movie twice, I'm definitely catching it again. Usually these mini-episodes that accompany seasons of other shows are dull and uninteresting (I didn't care much for those earlier BSG ones, honestly), but these flashbacks have been a breath of fresh air.The video is embedded after the jump.

Here's the sixth installment of the Batlestar Galactica: Razor flashbacks (or "Razorettes"). Not a whole lot of development like the last two clips, but alas it continues us along through to the final installment, coming soon. The video is embedded after the jump. Enjoy!
BSG: Razor Flashback - "This has happened before..." - VIDEO

Here's the fifth installment of the Batlestar Galactica: Razor flashbacks (or "Razorettes"). As some have previously noted (and I don't believe this is a spoiler really), this clip and the following ones will be seen as flashbacks in the Battlestar Galactica: Razor movie later this month. The video is embedded after the jump. Enjoy!
BSG: Razor Flashback - The battle continues - VIDEO

Alright, I realize many of you have already seen this on the Sci Fi Channel during its regular time, but I do post these as soon as Sci Fi gets them out to me. Thankfully I've got the rest of the Razorettes queued up with specific "OK to post" dates for you, so they'll be up more timely in the future. So, without further delay, here's the continuation of the Battlestar Galactica: Razor flashback ...
BSG: Razor Flashback - First Cylon War - VIDEO
by Keith McDuffee, posted Oct 25th 2007 2:59PM
The Battlestar Galactica: Razor Flashback videos keep coming in, though this one's a little late. Like I said, this is where things really get good with these "Razorettes" (as they're being called. Sounds like candy). There's no doubt that Adama was and still is one bad ass mofo. Oh, and if the fight looks over to you at the end of this clip, guess again.Check out the third video after the jump. You can also go back and check out the rest of the razorettes. Mmm, razorettes.

And the Battlestar Galactica: Razor Flashback videos continue. I was lucky enough to have caught all of these videos already, and I can tell you with certainty that these are all very much well worth watching if you're any sort of fan of the BSG series. Just wait until the next one -- holy frak!I agree with most of the comments so far -- this guy plays a fantastic young Bill "Husker" Adama.
Check out the second video after the jump.
Battlestar Galactica: Razor -- An early look
by Keith McDuffee, posted Oct 13th 2007 3:24PM

"You are capable of setting aside your fears, setting aside your hesitation ... and even your revulsion. Every natural inhibition that, during battle, could mean the difference between life and death.
When you can be this -- or as long as you have to be -- then you're a razor." -- Admiral Helena Cain, Battlestar Galactica: Razor
Yes, I was as shocked as the rest of you that, when I got to the TV Squad package drop the other day, one of those magical purple binders was waiting for me, emblazoned with a big white "IF", which could only mean one thing -- SciFi Channel goodness.
Before you continue, I will warn you that some of this is a little spoilery. I don't think it's much, but I'd rather warn you now than incur your wrath later.
Winning Razor cover art chosen and other Battlestar Galactica news
by Keith McDuffee, posted Sep 15th 2007 2:30PM
Last month we told you of Sci Fi Channel's poll for choosing the cover art for the DVD of the upcoming Battlestar Galactica - Razor TV movie. We posted our own poll and, as it turns out, the votes match up. The winning choice, seen right, is 'B'. I actually chose 'C' myself (which came in second in our poll), maybe because when thinking of the word "razor" I thought the split images matched along with that. But in all honesty, I don't really care what the cover looks like -- they were all fine choices.TV Squad Hot Topics
