by Chris Harnick, posted Oct 8th 2011 4:30PM
We already saw a very funny glimpse of the 'House of Lies' cast dancing in an earlier promo, but now it's time for the full thing.Showtime has released a new trailer featuring the cast -- which includes Don Cheadle, Kristen Bell and Ben Schwartz -- setting up the show. They're management consultants who control more than you think. The trailer is fun, snappy and actually kind of sexy at the same time. Have no fear, there's still some dancing!
'House of Lies' debuts this January.

'House of Lies' Stars Don Cheadle & Kristen Bell Rock a New Promo
by Maggie Furlong, posted Sep 24th 2011 7:00PM
Critics haven't seen more than a quick clip or trailer for Showtime's new comedy 'House of Lies,' but I'm still excited and optimistic for what the show might be.See I love a lot of the network's so-called comedies, but this one -- starring Don Cheadle, Kristen Bell, Ben Schwartz, Josh Lawson and Dawn Oliveri -- has promise to actually be funny.
Proof: This bare-bones but totally adorable promo of the five management consultants letting loose a bit. Sure, the show's description calls them "cutthroat" and says they'll do just about anything for money, but that can be comical, too. And even without showing me a second of footage from the show, seeing Cheadle's silly side and, of course, Bell's usual adorableness has gotten me pumped to see more.
We'll have to wait until closer to the show's Jan. 8 premiere for actual screeners, but stay tuned. For now, just enjoy ...

"Mitch and Cam go out for a boys night with Pepper and a bunch of their other gay friends," according to Steve Levitan, executive producer of 'Modern Family.'

The jokes Letterman didn't want
by Adam Finley, posted Jun 7th 2006 3:33PM
Apparently freelance writer Ben Schwartz has had his blog rejectedjokes.com going for over a year now, but this was the first I heard of it, thanks to Best Week Ever. Schwartz, a freelance writer who contributes to Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update" segment and David Letterman's monologues, knows what all freelance writers know, which is that you're going to see a lot more rejection than acceptance. Rather than mope about it, however, he posts videos of himself telling these rejected jokes. While I can see why some of these jokes would be denied by the likes of Letterman, most of them are still pretty funny, I think. Oh yeah, and due to some weird contractual thing, he's not able to post the jokes until a year later, which is kind of a bummer, but the blog is still worth checking out.TV Squad Hot Topics
