Matthew McConaughey to Tell Brother's 'Rooster Tales'

by Elizabeth Chan, posted Nov 30th 2009 12:18PM
Matthew McConaugheyScreen star Matthew McConaughey is about to give new meaning to the term "brotherly love."

Variety is reporting that McConaughey has teamed up with Fox to executive produce 'Rooster Tales,' an animated series based on the life of his brother, Mike "Rooster" McConaughey.

"My brother's life is so unbelievable, we had to animate it," McConaughey said. (case in point: Mike's second son was named "Miller Lyte," after his favorite frosty beverage)

The series will follow a redneck sheriff who marries a younger Mexican woman, only to inherit her 114-plus relatives.

Court TV is now TruTV

by Adam Finley, posted Jul 12th 2007 11:42AM

gavelWe told you it was going to happen. Court TV has changed its name, and it will no longer answer to "Court TV." From now on when you call you must ask for TruTV, the brand new name that also symbolizes a new direction for the channel when it re-launches with its new sexy look January 1, 2008.

Look, at this point I no longer care about networks sticking to programming that adheres to the name of the network. Cartoon Network is airing live-action stuff, AMC is focusing more on original series and less on movies, and I'm pretty sure Animal Planet is starting to give equal time to series about fruits and vegetables. All I care about is good programming, I don't really care what channel it's on. Hell, one of my favorite new shows, Ice Road Truckers, is on the History Channel. It has nothing to do with history, but I don't care.

PBS: Upcoming shows worth checking out

by Adam Finley, posted Mar 13th 2007 9:03AM

black goldSure, we all like sex, violence and cursing, but if you're like me, sometimes you like to pour yourself a nice cup of tea, settle into the couch, and watch something that's a bit more stimulating to the ol' gray matter. Therefore, here's a few shows coming up on PBS you might want to check out. Note that the first couple shows will air during the pledge period, so you'll have to check your listings for the exact date and time.

Kenny Rogers: The Journey (check local listings for date and time) - This combination concert and retrospective looks at forty years of Rogers' work, including interviews with the musician and singer.
