Another dead body on a CSI set
I think it's a sign that the franchise is dead. Dead bodies keep turning up around CSI sets. Last week it was in the building where CSI:NY was filming in Los Angeles. A near-mummified body was discovered by the landlord as crews were filming on a different floor. This time, it's CSI: Miami. A dead body washed up on a beach in Biscayne Bay in Miami that crews were using as a staging area for helicopter shots of an investigation scene. Miami police pretty much shrugged it off, saying that homeless people or boaters tend to fall into the bay this time of year. Neither death is considered suspicious, proving that actual crime scene investigation isn't nearly as cool as Jerry Bruckheimer makes it out to be.Real corpse found on set of CSI:NY
The crew and supporting cast members of CSI:NY were filming in a building where a mummified corpse was discovered on Tuesday. The actual filming was happening in a Los Angeles apartment building, where the landlord found one of his tenants had been dead for quite a while. Apparently the guy was behind on rent and, on the day of filming, the landlord decided to make a house call. The body was found two floors below where filming was happening so real police presence apparently didn't disrupt fake police on camera.Shatner never wore a girdle, says Shatner
Rumors have been circulating for many years that the only way William Shatner could maintain the physique of Captain James T. Kirk was to wear a corset under his uniform. Well, that's not true, claims Shatner. The actor claims the seed of this particular rumor actually began when he was working on TJ Hooker. During a break in filming he went horseback riding and wound up with a broken rib. An assistant was sent to fetch a bandage for the injured Shatner, and somehow the rumor mill eventually turned "bandage" into "girdle."
Okay, I don't believe Shatner ever wore a corset/girdle on Star Trek, but his explanation seems a little suspicious. Is he claiming this rumor didn't exist until long after Star Trek went off the air? Do any of you older readers remember hearing this rumor pre-TJ Hooker?
Wonder Showzen: Body
Last night marked the start of the
second season of Wonder Showzen, and I almost missed it. Thankfully they repeated the episode later in the
evening so I was able to crank up the ol' Tivo and capture it. After watching the same Season One episodes about twenty
times each, it was nice to finally see something new.
Last night's episode was about heroes and victims, with the main focus being put on the letter P, who was once very pretty but gained a lot of excess weight. Chauncy, the puppet's ringleader, decides P just needs a healthy dose of tough love, so he and the rest of the gang scream things at her like "stupid bitch" and "dumb slut" because "she needed to hear that."
