Here's a preview of tonight's Three Sheets (yes, there is a show called Three Sheets)

by Bob Sassone, posted Jul 20th 2009 1:33PM
If you're like me, you didn't know that there was a show called Three Sheets. It's on the Fine Living Network (I bet there are some of you who didn't even realize there was a Fine Living Network), and the new season starts tonight at 10PM.

The show was formerly on MOJO, but Fine Living will be showing the never-before-seen season 4 and older episodes. Basically it features comedian Zane Lamprey, going around the world and checking out various bars and various drinks and local food. Here's a preview.

Tracy Morgan avoids jail, has to wear ankle bracelet

by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 30th 2007 2:24PM

Tracy MorganWhat is it with 30 Rock stars, anyway? Tracy Morgan and drinking, Alec Baldwin and crazy phone calls. Are we going to hear soon that Tina Fey beat up an old lady for her shoes?

Morgan reached a deal with authorities regarding his drunk driving arrest back in November, which violated his probation (he was arrested before). He won't go to jail, but he will have to wear a SCRAM, which apparently stands for Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitoring. It's an ankle bracelet that detects alcohol vapors coming through the skin. Yeesh. What happens if you spill rubbing alcohol on it, or eat rum cake?

He'll be tested every half hour for 90 days (!) I wonder if there were any rural jurors who decided his fate or just a judge?

The Five: Biggest TV drinkers

by Bob Sassone, posted Jan 25th 2007 8:15AM

TateThere are drinkers, and then there are drinkers. The ones that always seem to have a drink in their hand. It's a social thing, it's a private thing, but most of all, it's an everyday thing. Here are five TV characters who drank. A lot.

1. Larry Tate (Bewitched): Sure, it was the 60s and drinking was everyone and not frowned upon like it is in a lot of situations today, but mother of God Larry used to drink a lot. Every single time he came over to the Stephens' home he rushed over to their bar and made himself a drink, or Samantha gave him one. He seems like a prime candidate for alcoholism: a harried advertising guy, always on the go, and an ad exec who works for him that seems to vanish or have odd things happen to him all the time. That couldn't have been easy to deal with. This guy drinks a lot. In fact, if you play the Bewitched drinking game (take a drink every time Larry takes a drink), you probably won't make it past an episode.

My Name Is Earl: Van Hickey

by Michael Sciannamea, posted Oct 19th 2006 11:13PM

Earl and his dilemma(S02E05) I always wanted to be in a band. Sure, I thought it would make me much cooler to girls, but I also imagined myself as someone who can bring pure musical joy to others. And then, of course, I woke up.

Earl had pretty much the same idea, but at least he took the big step of actually getting on stage and performing. OK, so Phish Tahko didn't exactly set the world on fire, and Earl and the band suffered the same fate that most bands that didn't make it suffered from--women and booze. Of course, in Earl's case, things got a bit messy.

The Office: Booze Cruise

by Michael Sciannamea, posted Jan 6th 2006 10:41AM
You would have thought that after last month's wild holiday party that the folks in The Office would lay off the sauce for a while. Nothing doing. In this case, Michael decides to hold a "Leadership Training Exercise" in the guise of a booze cruise. Of course, going out on a cruise in winter may not be anyone's idea of a good time, but Michael is determined to share his leadership ideas with the staff.

Despite numerous Titanic references, the cruise begins under the leadership of Captain Jack. As usual, Michael desperately wants to take over the reins and begin his presentation, but the captain decides to have everyone limbo. In a scene eerily reminiscent of David Brent's wild dance in the British version, Michael gets his groove on, saying that if you're going to be the boss, be the boss of dancing.
