It's a family affair on 'Chuck' (Mon., 8PM ET on NBC).

[Spoiler alert.]

(S03E16) This was an episode that was chock full of material and a lot of guest stars. We had Shaw, played by Brandon Routh (proving that death doesn't necessarily stop a returning guest star, kind of like with 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'). We also had Julia Ling return as Anna Wu (read her TV Squad interview here) as well as former time-traveling scientist and cab driver Christopher Lloyd as a C.I.A. psychiatrist.

The episode's problem was that it was a bit of a mish-mosh with the guest stars not getting any appreciable amount of screen time (well, maybe Christopher Lloyd, but certainly not the other two).

Things are starting to get pretty intense on 'Chuck' (Mon., 8PM ET on NBC). First, Chuck (Zachary Levi) was forced to kill in order to become a real spy. And now, Chuck is forced into a life-or-death situation again, in order to save the woman he loves.

Confessing your true love for another can be difficult ... especially when you're a spy, as the latest episode of 'Chuck' (Mon., 8PM ET on NBC) reveals.

At long last, Chuck (Zachary Levi) finally confesses his love for Agent Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski). "I love you," he says. "I feel like I've been bottling this up forever ... I'm going to kiss you now -- if that's okay."

The best part of this sneak peek at what's coming up on 'Chuck' this Monday (oh, I can't wait until the Olympics are over) is the font and special effects they use in the beginning. I'm pretty sure that's a nod to the Superman movies and the fact that both Brandon Routh and Kristin Kreuk are in the 'Chuck' cast.

It looks like everything that could possibly happen on 'Chuck' is going to happen in the new episodes, and it all looks fun.

Things heated up in a major way between Chuck and Hannah on last night's 'Chuck' (Mon., 8PM on NBC). She put the moves on him, which resulted in a big smooch between the two.

But then she saw Sarah on the security camera, meeting up with Daniel Shaw (Brandon Routh). Inside Joke Alert: "Who, him?" says Chuck. "Nah. Yeah, if you're into that strong, kind of 'Superman' type of guy."

(S03E06) What happens when an honest guy like Chuck becomes a spy? Apparently he becomes a stone-cold liar and deceptive schnook. Or maybe that's just Chuck Bartowski. The more he becomes a spy, the more Chuck is morphing into someone he doesn't like very much. And if you think Chuck is upset about his changing, his nearest and dearest are even more conflicted. (S03E05) What a great episode! Forgive me if I gush, but this was -- for me -- the best Chuck of the third season. And I think it may well be a game-changer for Chuck Bartowski, fledgling spy and man with the Intersect in his brain. For the first time, Chuck really achieved altitude, which may coincide with the plot that had Chuck, as the title suggested, taking flight.

(S03E04) Do you have the nerve? That was the question a few times this go-round. If you get off on the "I double dog dare you" kind of action, then you were right at home. Chuck was put in an impossibly emotional situation, a continuation of last week, with Awesome drawn into Chuck's web of espionage. Would he be able to keep it together and use the Intersect to help his bro-in-law? And what about the new guy in the mix, the off-camera character the General was talking to? All that and more after the jump.

The set of 'Chuck' is almost as much fun as watching the show. One minute, there's a smoke machine going off in a scene -- a sure sign that the danger is about to begin -- and the next, star Zach Levi is on a break, testing out new video games in the comfort of his TV living room.

The much-anticipated third season of NBC's cult favorite show is still waiting on a premiere date, but in the meantime, you can catch up with Chuck and Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski), as well as guest star Brandon Routh, who is playing Shaw, an expert on this season's nemesis organization, The Ring.

"We have a lot to look forward to -- we've raised the stakes a little bit," teases Yvonne. They've also continued their tradition of bringing in awesome guest stars like Routh, Kristin Kreuk, Angie Harmon, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Armand Assante, two of which will be playing love interests for Chuck and Sarah. We'll give you one guess ...

When NBC did its upfront -- it wasn't really like the other networks, because they had leaked so much information -- one of the things the powers that be decided to do was split the season into two sections. Or two official seasons. It all seemed a bit strange, and now that NBC has gotten off to such a dreadful start, things are changing. One change seems to be that Chuck may be back before March.

It's not a permanent gig, but it seems like he might wish it is. According to Michael Ausiello, Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) has signed to appear on Chuck as the new leader of Operation Bartowski. This puts him in the role of mentor to Chuck, which is the good news. The bad news is he'll also be a rival for Sarah's affection.

But what does this mean for Casey? Where will he be during all of this? Why do I have to wait until March for the new season of Chuck, NBC? Hey, make me a deal. If one of your new shows tanks, or if The Jay Leno Show fails to deliver, bring back Chuck earlier. How about October. That works for me.

Why intentionally put a show on the shelf for that long, anyway? Especially if that show is still trying to grow its audience. Would it hurt you to put on some Chuck reruns once in awhile? Don't you get tired of all those Law & Order repeats all over the schedule? People love lighter fare in the summertime.
