Heroes adds Bratz star to cast

by Varun Lella, posted Aug 17th 2007 10:23AM
Janel Parrish HeroesOk, it was exciting the first time. Interesting the second and third time. Now, I am almost bored of Heroes casting news. Seriously, how many more people can they add to this cast? The budget over at NBC must really be 'uge -- that is Donald Trump for large, according to my Trump to English dictionary.

Just earlier this week we heard that Stark Trek's Uhura (Nichelle Nichols) was added to the expanded cast for the second season. Only three days later, NBC has confirmed that Bratz's Janel Parrish has been brought on board. I guess producers are trying to add some more cute teen factor. As if Hayden Panettietre wasn't enough.

Boston Legal: Guise 'n Dolls

Gail O' Grady(S03E20) Wow, what a great episode. So many standout performances, not to mention one of the most brilliant scripts I have seen in a long time.

Let's begin with the guest cast. I loved seeing Christian Clemenson again. Ever since he played Socrates Poole he has struck me as a hard working actor and I am always amazed at his ability to portray characters that are hilarious and pitiful at the same time.

Paula Abdul gets new Bravo show

by Annie Wu, posted Jan 13th 2007 3:28PM
Paula AbdulHot off this precious moment, Paula Abdul is now the star of her own Bravo series. The show, Hey Paula, will document Abdul's crazy adventures while filming a new season of American Idol and working on the Bratz movie (have I mentioned how disgusted I am about that?). I assume that this will be done in a similar fashion to Kathy Griffin's Life on the D-List, which I have found to be surprisingly tolerable.

I can understand how some people can like Abdul on American Idol, but can anyone handle an entire program based around her? Personally, I'd rather see a full docu-series about MC Skat Kat.

Oh, and this is somewhat off-topic, but does anyone else find it a bit weird that the second Google result for "Paula Abdul" is the official Mandy Moore fansite?

Paula Abdul joins Bratz movie

by Liz Finn-Arnold, posted Jan 12th 2007 4:45PM
Paula AbdulBefore Paula Abdul became known as the American Idol judge most-likely to stand on her chair and clap during an AI performance, she was a woman who choreographed several films, including American Beauty, Jerry Maguire, and Big. After a lull in feature-film work for several years coinciding with her AI fame, Abdul is jumping back into the film biz with Bratz: The Movie. Yup, you heard me -- they're making a movie about a bunch of big-headed dolls who dress like hoochie mamas.

Abdul will reportedly be involved in all aspects of the production, sharing her expertise in fashion, choreography, and music, as well as her ability to discover new talent. She will also be responsible for babbling incoherently at all production meeting (no, not really, I made that up). Hey, I wonder if Bratz will become an additional sponsor during this season's American idol?

Giving Glam: Project Runway Barbie

by Lacy Hall, posted Dec 20th 2005 8:36AM

barbiedollOn last week's episode of Project Runway, Nick Verreos won the Barbie competition, which meant that his winning design would be transformed into a limited edition My Scene Barbie (cough, cough...rip-off Bratz doll). Well, Heidi hussled her little German ass off, and got the doll ready for Festivus. Okay, not really. Pre-ordering for the doll is available on the Project Runway website for $24.95, but it won't be ready to ship-out until January 20th. So it's one of those gifts you'll have to wrap-up a picture of and promise that it's "on its way."

**Note to my Mom- Under no circumstances, do I want this for Christmas, my birthday, or any other major gift-giving holiday.
