Jon Stewart to Bret Baier: Much Like 'Three's Company,' Fox News' High Ratings Don't Equal Quality (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Mar 25th 2011 7:20AM
Bret Baier, the host of Fox New's six o'clock show 'Special Report,' stopped by 'The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11 PM ET on Comedy Central.) At the beginning of the interview Jon Stewart suggested to Baier that he was a "human shield" because he is the guy Fox News uses to argue that they have good journalists, not just partisan personalities.Baier rejected that characterization, and this prompted a long disagreement between them about the nature of Fox News. Toward the end of their debate they had this exchange, which summed up each of their positions:
"Listen, on the opinion shows there's no doubt on Fox they come from the right," Baier explained. "But if you watch my show, Shepard Smith's show ... "
Fox News Suspends Presidential Candidates Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Mar 2nd 2011 3:00PM
Fox News has suspended contributors Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum from commenting on the cable news station because they have both "signaled possible runs" for president.Bret Baier made the announcement earlier Wednesday on 'Happening Now' (weekdays, 11AM ET on Fox News.")
"The suspension is effective for 60 days," Baier added. "Then on May 1 their contracts will be terminated unless they notify Fox that they are not running for president."
Bret Baier Raps on 'The O'Reilly Factor' (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Jan 27th 2011 7:29PM
On the Pinheads & Patriots segment of 'The O'Reilly Factor' (weekdays, 8PM ET on Fox News), Bill O'Reilly played a clip of his Fox News colleague Bret Baier showing off a particular type of MC skill."Our pal, Bret Baier, has a very fine program at 6PM on FNC, and in his spare time, Brett's a rapper," O'Reilly said, setting up the clip.
After playing a tape of Baier enthusiastically performing the hip-hop classic "Rapper's Delight" at a charity event, O'Reilly cruelly suggested that Karl Rove -- who has also been known to rap on occasion -- was better than Baier.
However, we're reminded more of Baier's cable news time-slot rival at CNN, Wolf Blitzer, who also embraced hip-hop culture when he danced the Dougie at the Soul Train Awards a couple months ago.
In fact, in the spirit of our new political civility, we think Baier and Blitzer should go on some sort of song and dance tour together. "Blitzer and Baier" happens to have quite a nice ring to it.
Bret Baier Interrupts Barack Obama (VIDEO)
by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 18th 2010 6:51AM
Good grief. Is there anything more frustrating than getting interrupted over and over when you're trying to get your message out? Especially if you're the President of the United States and have something to say. On the other hand, maybe Bret Baier was just trying to get Pres. Obama to answer the darn questions. Watch the video from 'Special Report With Bret Baier' (weekdays, 6PM ET on FNC), and weigh in with your comments below.

President Obama to Appear on Fox News
by Scott Harris, posted Mar 16th 2010 3:00PM
Fox News is about to welcome a special guest to the home of fair and balanced reporting: President Barack Obama. As reported by the Hollywood Reporter, President Obama will appear on Fox News prior to the upcoming, hotly-debated vote on health care reform by the House of Representatives. The interview -- which is a bit of a surprise, considering the sometimes frosty relationship between the administration and Fox News -- will be conducted by 'Special Report' host Bret Baier.
