can you tell me how to get
Sesame Street's 39th season starts today
I am older than Sesame Street. That's the first thing that went through my head when I saw that the show starts its 39th season today on PBS (check local listings for time). This means that I must have started watching the show when I was around four years old, which seems strange to me, but I've learned never to argue with Bert & Ernie.
Kermit gets all depressed and sings - VIDEO
Here's a rather disturbing video (after the jump) of Sesame Street veteran Kermit The Frog singing about all of the people who have left him, the horrible life he's had, and Miss Piggy. This isn't "The Rainbow Connection," folks. This is Kermit doing an acoustic version of the Nine Inch Nails song "Hurt" (also covered by Johnny Cash). Kermit has hit rock bottom. This episode has been brought to you by the letter D, which stands for depressing.
I never really noticed this before, but if you close your eyes and listen closely, Kermit sounds a lot like Neil Young.
(Warning: NSFW...especially if your W is touchy about felt puppets masturbating and taking drugs.)
Anderson Cooper talks to Muppets
Funny pic over at TV Newser (they're having a caption contest for it too), showing CNN anchor Anderson Cooper in a trash can, talking to two news puppets, Dan Rather-Not and Walter Cranky. Ha!
Obviously it's a segment for Sesame Street. Cooper plays himself (I'm assuming), and he pops up out of the trash can to interview the two puppets, who don't want to answer any questions. If you look closely, it looks like "CNN" has been changed to "GNN." Maybe that stands for the Garbage Can News Network?
The article says the segment will air next September. Next September???
