Carson Kressley Makes Over the Jersey Shore for Oprah (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Nov 19th 2010 5:55PM
Former 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy' team member Carson Kressley goes where he is needed. Wherever a man cries out for more trendy pants, he'll be there. Wherever someone puts down the elastic waist jeans, he'll be there. Wherever someone is looking to add a hint of color to a plain outfit, well, you get the idea. Kressley is now on the road for 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' (Weekdays, Syndicated) in the "Oprah! Makeover My Man!" van, and recently hit the Jersey shore (the place, not the show, as he points out) to lend an eye. He set up a fashion advice booth (actually just a table) to help out random men and women alike on the Atlantic City boardwalk.
In this clip, he helps Santa find his calling and gives a woman clad completely in red leather some advice to maybe break it up with some denim. "Then it won't look so much like you're the international ambassador for the color red," said Kressley.
He may want to look into long-term parking for the van.

On the season finale of 'True Beauty' (Mon., 10PM ET on ABC), host and judge Vanessa Minnillo said finalists Craig, Taylor and Erika had "all learned something from this," making them all "beautiful people." But of course, only one could win $100,000 and appear in 'People' magazine. And since they were in Las Vegas, Minnillo and fellow host/judge Carson Kressley announced the champion in the style of a slot machine, with the winning finalist's face rolling up.
So who was granted the title of "True Beauty"?

On 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, syndicated), Kressley said he and 'True Beauty' co-hosts Beth Ostrosky and Vanessa Minnillo went to visit Cher after a show. But, when given the chance to meet the icon by himself, he left Ostrosky and Minnillo out in the cold.A 'True Beauty' Breakdown in Wedding Challenge (VIDEO)

When Amy didn't get picked to be a bridesmaid on 'True Beauty' (Mon., 10PM ET on ABC), she broke down sobbing. "I never thought I'd be this miserably bad at something," she said. Judge Carson Kressley could relate, saying, "I feel her pain: 8th grade gym class. Hello. Never picked ever."As she sat there weeping, another contestant grabbed a tissue. But instead of offering it to Amy, he used it to wipe his sweaty brow. "Amy's distraught. It's unfortunate, but you know what, I'm not here to console her. I'm here to compete -- it's as simple as that," he said.
But he doesn't know it's an inner-beauty competition. And the judges saw the whole thing on the hidden cameras. Not so simple after all.

Judges Carson Kressley, Beth Stern and Vanessa Minnillo confronted Liz Parada about her inner-beauty shortcomings on 'True Beauty' (Mon., 10PM ET on ABC), revealing that "the winner of this competition is gonna be the complete package: a perfect combination of both inner and outer beauty," explained Minnillo. Before eliminating Liz from the contest, they showed her footage of the six hidden-camera challenges since the season began, five of which she'd failed. After watching herself steal and give away magic-trick secrets, among other things, she stormed off stage.
"Oh no, she did not just walk out!" said Kressley. Um, yeah, looks that way.
A Banana, a Half-Naked Dude, and Some Creepiness on 'True Beauty' (VIDEO)
by Oliver Miller, posted Jun 22nd 2010 2:05AM
Model David goes a little too far during the latest photo shoot on 'True Beauty' (Mon., 10PM ET on ABC). The contestants' job is to create an ad campaign using random food items. So David chooses to pose with some fruit, but then really seems to fixate on a banana. Why? ...Because a banana looks like a penis, that's why. At least, that's David's high level of thinking.
David prances into the shoot wearing nothing but some terrifyingly revealing underwear. Then, he specifically requests a banana, while gesturing with his hand down near his, uh, private parts. "I want to be holding the banana like it's my 'junk,'' he says.
The rest of the shoot is pretty much taken up by the judges and the photographers laughing in embarrassed horror. Meanwhile, David continually positions the banana near his -- yes -- private parts. Okay, dude. We got it. A banana kind of looks like a penis. Not subtle. You can stop now.
Kicked Off for Cheating on 'True Beauty' (VIDEO)

'True Beauty' (Mon., 10PM ET on ABC) is a reality show that judges people based on their "inner beauty." Strangely, the series only seems to pick really hot men and women while looking for "inner beauty," but, well, whatever. The other thing about the show is that the players are not told about the true nature of the contest. All the contestants think they are being analyzed as models. They believe they are scored based solely on their outer appearance. But the audience and the judges know better.
On the latest episode, we have a bit of a scandal. A contestant named Regina has violated the rules by using her cell phone to contact outsiders -- and by doing this, she manages to learn what the show is really about.

Failure on 'True Beauty' (VIDEO)

What would you do if you saw a very drunk man trying to get into a car? You'd do the right thing ... wouldn't you?Doing the right thing is the important issue on 'True Beauty' (Mon., 10PM ET on ABC). The reality show gathers together a lot of very, very hot people. But the contestants are judged on "inner beauty" as well as outer beauty. 'True Beauty' is back for a second season of stealthy spy work, all done in the name of uncovering the needle in a haystack person with true inner beauty in a sea of reality star wannabes. New hosts Carson Kressley and Beth Ostrosky Stern -- he of 'Queer Eye' fame and she of Mrs. King of All Media fame -- are there to keep up the charade, telling contestants they're vying to be the "face of Vegas," when in reality it's all a test of moral strength.

Carson Kressley Talks Calendar Mishap on 'Chelsea Lately' (VIDEO)
by Aimee Deeken, posted May 18th 2010 4:51AM
Modern technology is great, sure, but it can trip you up sometimes. For Carson Kressley, his attempt to stay organized using a digital calendar gave him some unexpected evening plans, he told Chelsea Handler on 'Chelsea Lately' (weeknights, 11PM ET on E!).A few years ago, he went to Handler's stand-up show. "A year rolls around and it pops up in my calendar again, because I guess I put it on the automatic yearly reminder thing. So I'm like, 'Oh, my assistant got me tickets to go see Chelsea.'"
But there was quite a different theme scheduled for that night. Latina lesbian comedy, anyone?

Carson Kressley expands his Lifetime empire
by Kona Gallagher, posted Jul 11th 2008 4:39PM
Before Lifetime snagged Bravo's Project Runway, it got its hands on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy star Carson Kressley. Lifetime tapped Kressley to host the feel-good show How to Look Good Naked, and now it looks like the cable net wants to keep the Kressley train moving by giving him his own talk show. The standard Monday-Friday talk show format is rare on cable nets, but is in line with Lifetime's plan to change its image from the "woman being beaten, kidnapped, set on fire, but ultimately triumphing in the end" movies/Golden Girls network to something younger and hipper -- basically Bravo with a female slant. Kressley's chat fest is supposed to focus on his talent for fashion and will feature a mix of studio and field segments that feature him offering insight and advice to "everyday" people.
