The Neighborhood is going to go there on CBS starting August 9

CBS logoI keep hearing about these summer shows coming up that I didn't even know existed. Like this one. It's a new reality show from Mike Fleiss (The Bachelor, etc) called There Goes The Neighborhood. They actually put up a twenty foot wall around a neighborhood in Atlanta, GA and cut off all of the residents from the outside world completely (though I wonder if it's really completely or just enough-to-play-the-game completely). The residents will have to interact with each other more than they probably have in the past and will also try to win money and prizes.

This could be an interesting experiment or a reality show-themed episode of The Twilight Zone: "Who Wants To Be A Monster On Maple Street?"

They might be Armed, but are they really Famous?

Armed and FamousThere are several things that bother me about the new CBS show Armed & Famous, which debuts this Wednesday at 8pm. One, it's another damn reality show. I've truly reached my breaking point with these shows, especially ones that are just gimmicks and not teaching us anything new or providing something substantial at the end.

But the main reason I'm bothered about the show is this: the ads keep saying that the show is going to feature "real celebrities" going to work as real cops. Um...since when are people like Erik Estrada and "that guy from Jackass" real celebrities? Latoya Jackson? She has a weird brother. Jack Osbourne? He's the son of a weird father. The hot blonde chick is...um, who is she again?

Neil Patrick Harris wants to be on The Amazing Race

Neil Patrick HarrisThe How I Met Your Mother star told Craig Ferguson (scroll down) that he wants to be on a celebrity version of The Amazing Race, because he loves the show so much.

And this gets me thinking: what celebs would you like to see on a celebrity edition of the show? I think they should team up Andy Dick and Bill O'Reilly on one team. That'd be fun to watch.
