'Celebrity Apprentice' Week Nine Results: Who Was Eliminated? (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 2nd 2011 3:48AM
Star Jones, Hope Dworaczyk, NeNe Leakes, 'Celebrity Apprentice'This week on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (Sun., 9PM ET on NBC), while one contestant left the show, another came back, as a delayed replacement for Jose Canseco, who quit. This week featured a lot of fighting between Star Jones and NeNe Leakes, but then again that's not really anything new.

At the challenge, teams had to produce a show to promote Farouk Systems hair care products, emphasizing their safety and that they are made in America. Lil Jon was project leader for the men, who brought in eliminated contestant Niki Taylor to help them out by being gorgeous and having gorgeous hair, and she did just that.

Eliminated Contestant Returns to the Game on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 2nd 2011 2:41AM
Donald Trump, 'Celebrity Apprentice'In eleven seasons, Donald Trump has never gone back on a firing. Sure, some of them have made almost no sense to viewers at home, but he's stuck to his guns every time. We're not sure if other fired contestants have come back asking to be allowed back in the game, but it happened this week on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (Sun. 9PM ET on NBC).

This contestant felt there wasn't sufficient ground for being fired. "I want to come back because I want to show my strength. I want to prove my ability," they said in a private meeting with Trump in his office.

As a caveat for their return, the person requested they be allowed to work on the opposite team from the one they got fired from. At the board room, Trump surprised everyone by doing just that.

Donald Trump Talks Running for President on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 25th 2011 1:20AM
Donald Trump, 'Celebrity Apprentice'While it probably wasn't the most impartial of groups, Donald Trump nevertheless decided to talk about his possible Presidential nod with the remaining contestants on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (Sun., 9PM ET on NBC). He asked the contestants if they would vote for him, and Meat Loaf took it one step further.

"I would vote for you," he said. "In fact, I'll help you with your campaign."

Trump even asked them point-blank which of them would not vote for him.

"A hot hint," Ivanka Trump said. "Don't raise your hand."

Meat Loaf Reveals a New Song with His 'Celebrity Apprentice' Team (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 20th 2011 3:35AM
Meat Loaf, 'Celebrity Apprentice'You never know where a musical collaboration might be born. Most people probably wouldn't guess that it would find its genesis on a show with Donald Trump. But that's exactly what's happened on this season's 'Celebrity Apprentice.' On 'Lopez Tonight' (weeknights, 12AM ET on TBS), Meat Loaf offered a sneak preview of the track.

It's a collaboration between him, his two fellow finalists on the men's side (Lil Jon and John Rich), and the already eliminated Mark McGrath. This is what happens when you force a bunch of musicians to hang out together.

What's fun about it is the diverse musical backgrounds and fields they're bringing into this joint number, called 'Standing in the Storm.' "It's kind of a rock/country/hip-hop thing," Meat Loaf said. "It's very interesting."

Gary Busey Backs Donald Trump for President, Says You Should Too (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 18th 2011 1:40PM
Gary Busey on 'The Wendy Williams Show'Donald Trump may have fired Gary Busey on 'Celebrity Apprentice,' but today on 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, syndicated), Busey backed Trump for president.

"He's a great man," said Busey. "He's got an awareness level that's very high, and I'm going to vote for him for president, and I suggest you all do. Because he has the wherewithal to turn this country over, turn the dump over, get out of where we are now."

Busey added that although he respects the sitting president, he thinks there has been a "con job," and that nothing President Obama promised has happened. We're pretty sure Busey's just angling for a VP nomination.

Did Donald Trump Finally Put Meat Loaf Out of His Misery on 'Celebrity Apprentice'? (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 18th 2011 2:57AM
Donald Trump, 'Celebrity Apprentice'It's been no secret that Meat Loaf has been struggling with various aspects of his time on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (Sun., 9PM on NBC). But the greatest source of frustration for him has been Gary Busey.

Almost from the beginning, the two of them have not gotten along. It even culminated in a largely undeserved and disturbing expletive-filled freak-out by Meat Loaf toward Busey over art supplies.

This week, Busey was the project manager for team Backbone in a 20-minute live cooking demonstration. Could Backbone pull it together and stop their losing skid at two weeks in a row, or was it back to the Boardroom?

Is It the End of the Road for Gary Busey on 'Celebrity Apprentice'?

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 11th 2011 4:21AM
Gary Busey & Mark McGrath, 'Celebrity Apprentice'Gary Busey's unpredictability has had the men on the edge of their nerves for weeks now on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (Sun., 9PM on NBC). Last week, Meat Loaf had an infamous meltdown of expletives and rage toward Busey, though that was ultimately undeserved. But it's safe to say that Busey has been a difficult teammate.

This week, he was up to his antics again during the challenge, driving the guys crazy and even hitting up the Australian Gold executives for some work.

Mark McGrath was the project manager for the men's team, and LaToya Jackson took point for the women. While both teams did exceptionally well, one team stayed on task and sold the message better.

Gary Busey Relives Meat Loaf's 'Celebrity Apprentice' Explosion (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 8th 2011 3:01AM
Gary Busey, 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' talking 'Celebrity Apprentice'Gary Busey didn't offer any new insight into the now-infamous Meat Loaf meltdown on 'Celebrity Apprentice' with his appearance on 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC). What he did bring, though, was a delightful interpretation of what happened.

In his recapping of the events that set the Internet ablaze this past Sunday night, he went from the calm demeanor he displayed throughout the ordeal to Meat Loaf's explosive craziness in a split second. Back and forth several times, it was a virtuoso performance.

"Any show where Gary Busey is the voice of reason I find fascinating," Leno said.

Meat Loaf's Epic Meltdown Toward Gary Busey on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 4th 2011 12:40AM
Meat Loaf, 'Celebrity Apprentice'Hey, Gary Busey. Bet you didn't see that one coming, did you? Neither did anyone else, but Meat Loaf certainly had the mother of all meltdowns on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (Sun., 9PM ET on NBC) this week. And it was all over art supplies.

See, when you can't find your art supplies, you have two options. You can either start looking around for them and asking if anyone's seen them, or you can do what Meat Loaf did.

When he started pacing and cursing no one had any idea what was going on. When asked what the matter was a few times, he finally responded. "I bought those motherf****** sponges!"

Gary Busey Wants More Time On 'Access Hollywood Live' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Mar 31st 2011 3:50PM
Gary Busey on 'Access Hollywood Live'Gary Busey got the regular six or seven minutes for his interview on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC), but he apparently felt it was insufficient time to contain his signature brand of crazy. When his interview with Kit Hoover and guest co-host Star Jones was over, he stood up and yelled, jokingly, for more time.

Busey was on talking about 'Celebrity Apprentice,' which he called "the biggest carnival on the air." Jones, who along with Busey is a contestant on the show, gave Donald Trump his due. "It's like going to Donald J. Trump's boot camp for business," said Busey. "You pray for the best, prepare for the worst, you expect the unexpected, with sleep deprivation."

The interview pretty much ended there, but as the hosts were giving the outro to the segment, Busey shouted, "Is that it? Is that it? Is that it? Hey! This is short." At least he seemed cheerful about it.

TV 101: Who Cares If the Stars Are Dancing?

by Dr. Ryan Vaughan, PhD (no, seriously), posted Mar 30th 2011 4:30PM
Dancing With the StarsI watch a lot of television -- some would say an unhealthy amount -- walking the thin line between hobby and obsession. I have the luxury of having jobs (writing, teaching) that allow me to sheepishly categorize my viewing habits as "research," no different from Cousteau or Goodall, but probably with more Cheetos.

Through all the "research," all the time spent lying in bed thinking, all the shouting of things at random passers-by, there's still one thing I have yet to wrap my admittedly gargantuan head around: Why does anyone -- even members of her own family -- care what Kirstie Alley is doing?! Unless she's making you a pie or babysitting your infant (that's my show idea -- don't even think about stealing it), why would anyone care?

I don't mean to single out Ms. Alley, but I'm using her as an emblem for all of celebreality-dom. The truth is that there are countless others out there slapping on makeup and inking deals with the devil for one more shot at being recognized in line at Subway -- enough to necessitate the obnoxious term "celebreality."

Jose Canseco Plays Gay for Team Backbone Commercial on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (VIDEO)

Jose Canseco, 'Celebrity Apprentice'Team Backbone went with a more "risqué message," according to Mark McGrath for their video phone commercial on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (Sun., 9PM ET on NBC), they spotlighted a gay couple. And to fill out the spot, they cast José Canseco as Pablo, one half of the couple.

"José Canseco is one good-looking fellow," Richard Hatch said of their choice. "Holy cow!"

Canseco committed fully to the role, coming into the scene with a huge smile for his partner and the camera. After they stopped the cameras, however, his team erupted in laughter.

Matthew McConaughey Offers Opinion on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (VIDEO)

Matthew McConaughey Offers Opinion on 'Celebrity Apprentice'On 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' (weekdays, syndicated), Matthew McConaughey admitted to being a fan of reality TV, especially 'Celebrity Apprentice.' McConaughey weighed in with his opinion on the competition's strongest players, the relationship between Star Jones and NeNe Leakes, and the ever-loopy Gary Busey.

McConaughey identified two players in particular with the potential to go far. "I think, who looks like they could be good at it, is going to be that John Rich," he said. "Star Jones is good at it. She's a diva, but she's good at it. Even when she's not team leader, she's taking control back there."

NeNe Leakes Calls Star Jones 'Manipulative, Conniving' on 'Ellen' (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Mar 23rd 2011 10:00AM
NeNe Leakes Calls Star Jones a 'Disaster' on 'Ellen'NeNe Leakes pulled no punches while discussing her 'Celebrity Apprentice' co-star Star Jones on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' (weekdays, syndicated). Although Leakes admitted that she and Jones are "OK" at the moment, she didn't do much to quell their ongoing, very-public war of words.

Without hesitation, Leakes described Jones as domineering and devious. "I don't think she's easy to get along with. She's a tough girl," she said. "She is bossy. She's manipulative, conniving. And I'm not even being funny. I think that is real. I honestly think that is who she is."

Niki Taylor Makes Firing Easy for Trump, Owns Team Loss on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 21st 2011 12:31AM
'Celebrity Apprentice''Celebrity Apprentice' (Sun., 9PM ET on NBC) featured a project manager face-off between Gary Busey and Niki Taylor. It was absolutely as crazy as expected, but the results may have been a bit of a surprise to some.

Busey brought the crazy that everyone was looking for, but he brought more than just that. The men took it this week, leaving Taylor and the girls to face Donald Trump in the Boardroom. But then, something revealing happened.
