Dan Abrams defends himself on MSNBC

by Bob Sassone, posted Jul 30th 2009 5:27PM
Dan Abrams has been a busy guy since leaving his old jobs as GM and on-air host at MSNBC (he still pops up as an analyst and commentator). He created Mediaite and now GossipCop, which sounds...well, kinda brilliant. They can "police" the various gossip sites and tabloids while at the same time being a gossip site themselves. On MSNBC yesterday, The Nation editor Katrina Vanden Huevel didn't seem too thrilled with GossipCop, and Abrams defended himself.

If there's one good thing about this video is now we all know how Mediaite is supposed to be pronounced.

When Andy Dicks attack (TMZ)!

by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 30th 2007 2:03PM

Andy DickThis is one of the funniest videos I've seen all week, second only to the video of Miss Teen and her educational policy. It's Andy Dick outside of a nightclub, confronting a TMZ photographer.

It's not funny in one way, because Dick is obviously, um, a little out of it. But the funny parts are 1. Dick is wearing a dress shirt, tie, and shorts, and 2. Dick's "attack" is rather lighthearted, even if he does shove the camera (the cameraman jokes with Dick throughout the entire thing and gets off some funny lines). A random woman on the street shouts encouragement to Andy too.

The best part is he chases the TMZ guy a couple of blocks, and as an added bonus we get an accidental tour of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Now Kathy Griffin goes after Larry King

by Bob Sassone, posted Jan 9th 2007 9:33AM

Kathy GriffinI was watching comedian Kathy Griffin on Larry King Live a few weeks ago, and I remember thinking, why is she on this show? Beyond the publicity, why is she on the show of someone she would usually dump on or say funny, nasty things about? And yes, I'm aware that's a terrible sentence, but you can see my point. Larry King seems like someone Griffin would insult or pick on, not appear on his show.

But now comes word that Griffin dumped on King an interview at the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center last week. She says that King is either deaf or doesn't listen:

Is Kathy Griffin's reality show unreal?

by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 30th 2006 9:44PM
Kathy GriffinThat's what gossip queen Janet Charleton is alleging in her latest post. She says that even though Griffin has said on her standup special and elsewhere that she and husband Matt are working things out, the two have actually been living apart for quite some time, and the scenes you see of him living in her home aren't true. He comes into the house to film scenes for My Life on the D List, but then he leaves again when the filming is done.

Charleton says that the couple's marriage is over. Hmmm...
