'Glee' Star's Father Murdered

Charice Father Murdered'Glee' guest star Charice Pempengco's estranged father was murdered in the Philippines.

Charice pulled out of a concert in Singapore to return to the Philippines to be with her family.

"I am not going to be there to be part of David Foster and Friends concert," she tweeted. "I have to go back to the Philippines as soon as possible to be with my family."

According to the Associated Press, Charice's father, 40-year-old construction worker Ricky Pempengco, was in a small grocery store late Monday night. Laguna province's police chief, Senior Supt. Gilbert Cruz, said Pempengco brushed against a drunk man who became angry and stabbed him with an ice pick in the chest and back.

'Glee': Hear 'A Night of Neglect' Songs

Gwyneth Paltrow, GleeWhen 'Glee' returns from its month-long hiatus on Tuesday night, it'll have plenty of guest stars and showstoppers in tow. It looks like 'A Night of Neglect' will be the ladies' time to shine.

Charice fans, you don't want to miss this episode! The pop star returns as Sunshine Corazon for the first time since the season premiere, and belts Celine Dion's 'All by Myself.'

Amber Riley (Mercedes) takes the lead on 'Ain't No Way,' and Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) is the primary voice on Lykke Li's 'I Follow Rivers.'

Gwyneth Paltrow also guest stars, reprising her Holly Holiday role for (presumably) the last time this season. She'll sing 'Turning Tables' from Adele's new hit album '21.'

Charice Returning to 'Glee'When Charice returns to 'Glee' later this season, she knows exactly what she wants to do.

"I've been asking if I can to perform Beyonce's 'If I Were a Boy' or 'Crazy in Love,'" she told PopEater. Here's hoping the Fox hit can 'Work It Out.'

Charice is set to reprise her role for four more episodes as Rachel's (Lea Michele) rival, Sunshine Corazon. But the singer/actress wouldn't divulge any tidbits about upcoming storylines.

"I am so blessed to be coming back," she gushed to PopEater. "Ryan Murphy [the creator] and I have been talking, and it's finally happening."

ChariceIt's been rumored (and shot down) for awhile, but today, it appears as if Filipina pop star Charice Pempengco has landed a recurring role on the FOX mega-hit 'Glee,' according to the Ausiello Files.

Gleeks will thrill to the news that Pempengco's character will be a foreign exchange student whose incredible talent may finally drive Lea Michele's Rachel to some crazy-desperate measures.
