The very public battle between Charlie Sheen and his one-time 'Two and a Half Men' boss Chuck Lorre has been well-documented, but since relaunching his hit CBS series with Ashton Kutcher, Lorre hasn't said much about his former star's "winning" meltdown and subsequent replacement.

In the latest issue of TV Guide Magazine, which hits newsstands Thursday, Dec. 15, Lorre talks to editor Michael Schneider, who's been teasing that the man of many multi-cam sitcoms finally tells all.

But it's worth noting that it's Emmy winner Jon Cryer -- not the recently gossip-plagued Kutcher -- who's gracing the cover with Lorre, along with 'Mike & Molly' funny lady Melissa McCarthy and Jim Parsons of 'The Big Bang Theory,' who've both also taken home Emmy love for their Lorre-created roles. When you think of video games, you may not think first of Charlie Sheen. But Spike TV invited him to the 2011 'Video Game Awards' (Sat., 8PM ET on Spike) to present the award for Best Shooter, which was won by 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.' So Sheen explained to the audience why he was there.

Patrice O'Neal's untimely death at the age of 41 has left the world of comedy in mourning. Since the news broke Tuesday a flood of tributes to the comedian have poured out from TV stars and celebrities including Charlie Sheen, Sarah Silverman, Questlove, Dane Cook, Ricky Gervais and Kevin Nealon.

Plus, a Comedy Central spokesman told TMZ that the network is "broken up" by the news and will pay tribute by re-airing O'Neal's stand-up special 'Elephant in the Room' tonight.

O'Neal's last national TV performance was at the Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen, and his mocking of Sheen was considered to be one of the highlights of the show. Last night Sheen took to Twitter to pay tribute: "The entertainment world as well as the world at large lost a brilliant man today. Patrice had that rare 'light' around him and inside of him. I only knew him for the few days leading up the Roast. Yet I will forever be inspired by his nobility, his grace and his epic talent. My tears today are for the tremendous loss to his true friends and loving family."

You could forgive CBS CEO Leslie Moonves for being a little stressed; after Charlie Sheen's acrimonious exit from 'Two and a Half Men' earlier this year, America's biggest sitcom was in serious danger of imploding, leaving the network wondering if they might have to slaughter their golden goose just to save face.

Against all odds, 'Two and a Half Men' bounced back bigger than ever with the addition of Ashton Kutcher this season, but lately it seems as though Moonves has simply traded one headline-grabber for another. From engaging in a war of words with the Village Voice over sex trafficking to making a twit of himself on Twitter with an uninformed comment about Joe Paterno, Kutcher is developing a reputation almost as noisy as Sheen's -- and his impending divorce from Demi Moore over rumors of infidelity won't help matters much.

Still, despite Kutcher's antics, Moonves apparently doesn't think his golden goose is in danger any longer. According to Deadline, the CEO spoke confidently about the future of 'Two and a Half Men' at the recent Hollywood Radio and Television Society Newsmaker Luncheon in Beverly Hills.

"With these numbers, I'm hoping this show will last for many, many years," he insisted, also praising Kutcher's performance. "We're more than happy with how well Ashton has done, other than his comments about Penn State."

When Denise Richards told Chelsea Handler that Charlie Sheen is a big fan of 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!), Handler had a response for him ... since she could assume he was watching.

"Go f*** yourself!" she said directly into the camera. She was kidding, of course. But she was serious in wondering how Richards could have such a calm relationship with someone who "can be such a hot mess."

It seems pretty well established by now that Charlie Sheen is going to be Charlie Sheen, and nothing is really going to be able to make him change who he is and what he does for a good time. Gary Busey is checking into 'Two and a Half Men.' The eccentric 'Celebrity Apprentice' star will play himself in an upcoming episode.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Busey will share a room with Alan (Jon Cryer) in a mental institution. What drives Alan to the facility? Walden (Ashton Kutcher) will donate Charlie Harper's (Charlie Sheen) piano to under-privileged kids. Alan begins to unravel, unable to deal with his brother's death.

Alan will start to believe that he is Charlie in the Mon., Nov. 14 episode of the CBS sitcom.

Television is a business. Some days, it feels like 95 percent of television exists to remind us of that.

Many shows are made for cynical reasons, by cynical people, in order to rake in the cash that props up multinational corporations. So much of the time, making money is the name of the game and creativity and originality are afterthoughts, if that.

But I've staked my career on the idea that television is more than a business, that it can be an art as well. Those of us who approach this gig with that belief -- with anything other than a cynical attitude, that is -- are liable to get blindsided by pointed reminders that cynicism and opportunism are the standard operating modes in Hollywood.

Yesterday, we got one of those reminders. I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised that FX got into business with Charlie Sheen via his new show, 'Anger Management,' but it was hard not to feel disappointment.

Is Charlie Sheen's winning streak back on? The former 'Two and a Half Men' star just got a new job.

Sheen will return to TV next summer in 'Anger Management' -- a small-screen adaptation of the Adam Sandler/Jack Nicholson comedy from 2003 -- FX Networks president John Landgraf announced today.

FX has ordered 10 episodes of sitcom 'Anger Management,' with production set to begin in early 2012. Writer-producer Bruce Helford will act as executive producer and showrunner.

But we're not just talking about one season -- if the show is a hit, FX will pick up an additional 90 episodes under a unique syndication model crafted by Lionsgate-owned distributor Debmar-Mercury for multiple Tyler Perry sitcoms and Revolution's and Ice Cube's 'Are We There Yet?' The series will air exclusively on FX until the off-network episodes start airing in broadcast syndication in fall 2014.

"We think that Bruce Helford, Joe Roth and Charlie Sheen have come up with a wonderful, hilarious vehicle for Charlie's acting talents -- and a character we are very much looking forward to seeing him play," said Landgraf, President and General Manager, FX Networks. "'Two and a Half Men' has been an outstanding component of FX's schedule for the past 14 months, and we have every confidence that 'Anger Management' will soon be as well."

Honestly, after all the bitterness and mud-slinging that went on for most of this year, we didn't think Charlie Sheen would be able to play nicely with the 'Two and a Half Men' camp for much longer. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall at Casa Sheen when he heard that the Season 9 opener got a whopping 28 million viewers without him ...

Sheen said that he "loved" the new Kutcher-led 'Men' when it debuted, but now that ratings for the comedy have dropped off by 50 percent since then, he's let it be known that he's not happy with the direction that 'Men' is headed in.

According to TMZ, Sheen said he's "extremely disappointed" with the way the show's producers are "handling what I left behind." When asked by a photographer for an explanation of why the audience numbers have been plummeting, he said "People aren't stupid ... not all of them."

Dr. Drew Pinsky is a favorite guest of 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, syndicated on Fox). Williams, who is a former cocaine abuser, has always been fascinated with celebrity addictions, and a couple of weeks ago offered her couch as a "safe place" for Charlie Sheen, who appeared sober and healthy. Today she got Dr. Drew's perspective on Sheen's recent recovery.

When Williams asked Dr. Drew if he believed Sheen is now sober, he carefully said, "I believe he's abstinent right now." He went on to explain that if Sheen is an addict, and that all signs point to the fact that he is, then "he will go back. That's just the way addiction works."

Forbes has released its annual list of the Top 10 highest paid actors on TV and the usual suspects -- Charlie Sheen, Hugh Laurie, Ray Romano -- are still present. However, some of these actors have already left their TV homes, and others might not have shows to pay them after this year.

'Two and a Half Men' has survived its fair share of TV scandals. I mean, we all saw what happened to Charlie Sheen, right? But the latest headlines about Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore's marital troubles have us asking: Is 'Two and a Half Men' cursed?

If you were frantically trying to figure out the connection between Kate Walsh and Charlie Sheen during his Comedy Central Roast, to understand why she was on the dais, there's a reason you didn't come up with anything. On 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!), Walsh admitted she and Sheen met that night.

"Literally right before I went on I was like, 'Hey, how you doing? Sorry,'" she explained.

In the latest act of Charlie Sheen's atonement tour, the former 'Two and a Half Men' star has reached a settlement with Chuck Lorre and Warner Bros., according to a report in Deadline. Sheen had been suing the parties for $100 million, claiming he was wrongfully terminated from the hit sitcom.

In a statement, Warner Bros. confirmed news of a settlement. "Warner Bros. Television, Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen have resolved their dispute to the parties' mutual satisfaction. The pending lawsuit and arbitration will be dismissed as to all parties. The parties have agreed to maintain confidentiality over the terms of the settlement."

Last week, the L.A. Times reported that a settlement was likely to pay Sheen somewhere in the neighborhood of $25 million.

While Sheen is looking to clean up his many messes as he attempts to sell his 'Anger Management' pilot, the Season 9 premiere of 'Two and a Half Men,' which killed off Sheen's Charlie Harper character, drew massive ratings.

This week didn't let up. Between the Emmys and the start of Fall TV, it's all kind of a blur -- but there were some moments that stood out.

The Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Emmy nominees putting on a little beauty pageant warmed our jaded hearts, Charlie Harper's death on 'Two and a Half Men' was cathartic and Sheen's speech at his Comedy Central Roast was actually ... funny.

As the week moved on, we fell hook, line and sinker for the publicity stunt that was the 'X Factor' Flasher. And the final TV scene of 'All My Children,' a bizarre cliffhanger overflowing with soapy goodness, pretty much tied the whole week together.

Comedy Central's Roast of Sheen was the highest rated roast in the network's history, as 6.4 million viewers tuned in to watch Sheen skewered. Including re-airs, the total audience reached 10 million. It was the second-highest rated telecast in Comedy Central history.

Not only was the Sheen roast a ratings success on TV screens, but chatter about the event also dominated social media. According to trendrr.tv, the Roast garnered 450,000 social mentions, which dwarfed several other prime-time Fall TV premieres, including 'Dancing With the Stars' and 'Two and Half Men.'

In terms of laughs, the roast didn't disappoint. Comedians and celebrities from Jeffrey Ross to Mike Tyson to Roastmaster Seth MacFarlane gave Sheen their best shots, making fun of his drug history, public breakdown and affinity for prostitutes.

For a brief moment, Charlie Harper and Walden Schmidt shared the screen on the season premiere of 'Two and a Half Men' (Mon., 9PM ET on CBS). It would turn out to be Charlie's last appearance -- sort of -- and Walden's first. Granted, Charlie was ashes at the time.

After quickly moving past the funeral of Charlie, filled with jilted ex-lovers, before the opening credits even began, Alan began the process of moving on. As part of that, he decided to scatter Charlie's ashes on the beach.

Why he took the lid off the urn before he got to the beach was pretty obvious once a soaking wet Ashton Kutcher peeked through the back door. This way we get the sight gag of Charlie's ashes flying through the air as Alan shrieks and throws his arms up.
