TV's Top 10 Cheaters
by Jane Murphy, posted Sep 27th 2010 2:30PM
Love makes the world go 'round, but there's nothing like infidelity to drive story. These memorable TV characters, from shows of the '80s, '90s, '00s and present -- very married or allegedly monogamous -- broke their vows in most spectacular fashion.
Heroes, anti-heroes and villains, they have one very naughty thing in common -- two-timing.
Roger and Joan, 'Mad Men.' Mr. Sterling and Mrs. Harris have elbowed now-divorced Don aside as the show's super-cheaters. Fans wanted Roger (John Slattery) and Joan (Christina Hendricks) to forget their spouses and reunite – so why do we feel so queasy after last weeks post-mugging tryst (and resulting pregnancy)?
Best TV of the '00s: Trashy Reality

More of our best of the decade coverage, which started on Tuesday. You can read the other posts at the link above. Here, we talk about the cheesiest in reality from the decade. And there was a lot of cheesy going around. The turn of the millennium was the point when television networks were watching the rise of Survivor, The Amazing Race, and American Idol and thought, "I can do that!" What they didn't realize was that to maintain a high quality level, they still needed a big budget.
Instead of monetary prizes, networks turned to things like love, the experience, and the belief of fifteen minutes of fame to entice people to participate. Slowly with the help of networks like Fox, E!, and VH1, reality shows got more classless and turned trashy. Like a car accident, viewers can't stop watching. The decade has provided a countless number of trashy reality shows and here is TV Squad's favorites of the decade.
EW declares the all-time best and worst of reality television
by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 11th 2009 3:00PM
Considering how prevalent reality television is these days, it's got to be a pretty daunting task to try and put together a comprehensive list of the best and worst of all time. But Entertainment Weekly thinks they've done just that. They've compiled the top 20 reality shows of all time, but also the ten worst reality shows of all time. All in all, they did a pretty damned good job. I completely agree with the top six, but they lose me with Jackass at number seven. I have never understood the appeal of filming morons doing stupid things on purpose just to be stupid. But there were some shows missing from the list completely, like Little People Big World, So You Think You Can Dance and Beauty and the Geek. Surely those shows are better than The Hills and The Real Housewives of Sesame Street, or whatever franchise they're spinning now.

Just when you thought everyone you knew, ever, had endured their 15 minutes on some reality show, you've been hoodwinked. It's no longer just the lady in accounts payable who you spotted on Cheaters or your brother's friend whose family appeared on Wife Swap. These days, it's low-profile celebs, too, who are seeking a 16th minute, and no longer exclusively via humiliation on VH1.What's on tonight: The Closer, Saved, Hell's Kitchen, Kyle XY, RAW
