Carson Kressley Abandons Co-Hosts to Meet Cher (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted Jul 15th 2010 4:00PM
Based on this clip, we now know where Carson Kressley's true loyalties lie. On 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, syndicated), Kressley said he and 'True Beauty' co-hosts Beth Ostrosky and Vanessa Minnillo went to visit Cher after a show. But, when given the chance to meet the icon by himself, he left Ostrosky and Minnillo out in the cold.Kelli Williams Talks About Selling Lemonade With Johnny Carson (VIDEO)
by Oliver Miller, posted Jul 13th 2010 9:00PM
Kelli Williams -- star of the drama 'Lie to Me' -- appeared on 'The Kilborn File' (weeknights, 7PM ET on Fox). There, she discussed her "normal" childhood, growing up in Beverly Hills as the daughter of an actress and a plastic surgeon.Ms. Williams spoke of being a little kid in Hollywood, and having famous stars as her neighbors -- including Kenny Rogers, Sonny and Cher ... and Johnny Carson, who lived right across the street from her. Since tour buses stopped there to look at Johnny Carson's house, the young Ms. Williams opened up a business called "The Johnny Carson Lemonade Stand" -- in order to separate some of the tourists from their money.
The lemonade stand idea was Johnny Carson's own suggestion. While discussing the topic, host Craig Kilborn hinted that Johnny might have wanted a share of the profits from the lemonade. Ms. William neither confirmed nor denied this.
Kathy Griffin's She'll Cut A Bitch on DVD
by Nick Zaino, posted Jan 11th 2010 7:54PM
The best thing about making fun of the daily failings of celebrities and other public figures, as is Kathy Griffin's bread and butter, is that you can write a new act every few weeks. Griffin's Bravo special, She'll Cut A Bitch, originally aired in April of 2009, and comes out uncensored with a few extra routines (about 12 minutes total) on DVD January 12. She also released a CD last November, called Suckin' It For the Holidays, which had almost nothing to do with the holidays. There was very little overlap between the special and CD. Griffin has released a steady stream of specials for the past several years, in addition to shooting her reality show, My Life on the D-List.
Paul Shaffer didn't do his Cher impression last night (but here it is anyway)
by Bob Sassone, posted Dec 24th 2009 11:22AM
Every Christmas, on the same Late Show episode where Dave and Jay Thomas try to knock the meatball off of the Christmas tree, Paul Shaffer does his impersonation of Cher singing "O, Holy Night." He didn't do it last night on the show, but he did do it, and CBS has it as a web exclusive.
By the way, Thomas didn't even get to throw a football last night. Dave knocked the meatball off before he could even get a football in his hands. [Watch clips and episodes of The Late Show and other shows at SlashControl.]

Alec Baldwin announces his retirement one more time
by Allison Waldman, posted Nov 30th 2009 8:02PM
"Hello, my name is Alec and I'm a retirement-holic. ...I don't know why, but I have this insatiable need to announce to the world again and again that I'm quitting the acting business. I don't know what I'm going to do."Okay, that's not a real scene from the life of Alec Baldwin, but it might as well be. About a year and a half ago, Alec was kvetching about turning 50 years old and how he only cared about the Emmys honoring 30 Rock, and his plans to quit the business.
And now he's done it again. In an interview with Men's Journal, promoting his new movie with Meryl Streep and Steve Martin called It's Complicated, Alec Baldwin says he will quit acting in 2012 when his 30 Rock contract comes to an end.
Right now on Cinematical

The folks at our sister site Cinematical are working hard to give you news and reviews of the best -- and worst -- the silver screen has to offer. Here are some of their musings on the latest blockbusters, indies, and everything in between:
- "I mean, if we can have a bajillion stripper movies, can't we have a least a handful or 50 library flicks that not only entertain, but also do great things for the communities across the country?" I couldn't have said it better myself. Check out how a movie starring Parker Posey may save a library.
- Chris Rock was on Oprah today talking to women about his new documentary Good Hair. It sounds absolutely fascinating to me, and is already stirring up a lot of Controversy. Check out the review on Cinematical.
- I love a good scary movie, and it seems as though the upcoming Paranormal Activity fits the bill. Cinematical interviews writer-director Oren Peli.
- The movie Burlesque sounds absolutely insane: Cristina Aguilera, Cher, Stanley Tucci, and now Veronica Mars herself, Kristen Bell has joined the cast.
- Speaking of the lovely Kristen Bell, her movie, Couples Retreat, opens this weekend. Check out the review on Cinematical.

FCC lets a foul-mouthed ABC and CBS off the hook
by Julia Ward, posted Nov 7th 2006 3:43PM
The FCC has dismissed indecency charges against ABC's NYPD Blue and CBS' Early Show, but has upheld charges against - oh, delicious irony - Fox. Back in April, the networks sued the FCC and asked an appeals court to invalidate the Commission's charges of indecency against NYPD, Early Show and Fox's broadcast of the Billboard Music Awards in 2002 and 2003 on the grounds that the charges were unconstitutional.
ABC got off easy. The NYPD Blue episodes that used the words "dickhead" and "bullshit" were let off the hook because they aired several years ago - before the FCC upped its fines 10x, post-Janet wardrobe malfunction.
Meredith Vieira gets stuck in a giant clam
by Bob Sassone, posted Nov 1st 2006 8:14AM
Well, the new Today Show host has officially had her most embarrassing moment on the show, on the annual Halloween show.
Of course, I'm not sure what's more embarrassing, the fact that Vieira got stuck in a giant clam that was supposed to come out from behind a glittery curtain (you can see the stagehands trying to pull the clam out from behind the curtain) or the fact that Vieira decided, for some reason, to dress like...Bette Midler??
You get to see Matt Lauer dressed as Jack Sparrow and Al Roker as that squidface (?) thing from The Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. Natalie Morales was Madonna, and Ann Curry was a very annoying Cher. Click here, then click on "Video: Today crew reveals costumes."

Project Runway: Iconic Statement
by Annie Wu, posted Aug 10th 2006 11:17AM
(S03E05) This episode switched things up a bit. Instead of the other way around, the models chose the designers they wanted. Of course, some of the designers were uncomfortable with the feeling of not being in control in this situation. Their anxiety was made even worse when the designers were challenged to re-create a look for a fashion icon... a fashion icon that they'd have no say in choosing. Their models picked from a selection of icons, ranging from Madonna to Katharine Hepburn to Twiggy. Some designers were ecstatic with their assignments, others were totally clueless (cough cough, his name starts with a "B" and ends with "Radley").American Idol: Boston Auditions
by Lacy Hall, posted Feb 7th 2006 10:32PM
I've never been a big fan of Boston. I always thought it was the New York for woosies. I mean, take
the New England Patriots -- they have a quarterback who not only looks like he could date
a supermodel, but could also be a supermodel. But one thing about Boston -- they've got great
hometown spirit and I love that. They are one of those cities (i.e. Detroit) that has a lot of pride. But maybe
too much pride.TV Squad Hot Topics
