The Best and Worst new characters

by Bob Sassone, posted Oct 20th 2006 3:23PM

Ali LarterThe Chicago Tribune has their list for the best and worst new characters on the fall shows. While I can get behind several of their choices (including Juliet on Lost for "Best New Female Villain" and Ugly Betty's Betty Suarez as "Best New Female Character"), there are some people that she left out, including Hiro on Heroes and Steven Weber on Studio 60. And I don't agree with some of the choices they did make, such as naming Niki on Heroes the "Most Boring Female Character."

I had completely forgotten that Eric Bogosian had joined Law and Order: CI this season. I might just have to start watching that show again.

So, let's get a list going here in the comments here. Who do you think are the best and worst new TV characters this season? And remember, just because it's a good show doesn't mean it doesn't have bad characters, and vice versa.

More Sara/Grissom next season on CSI. Ew.

sara sidle; gil grissom; csiAccording to this writer for the Chicago Tribune, there is a "ferocious debate" going on over the season finale of CSI where Sara Sidle and Gil Grissom were in a bedroom together. (More like ferocious vomiting!) Apparently, fans worry the show will switch its focus to the characters' personal lives.

Anywho, the article includes an interview with CBS president Nina Tassler, who says that fans have embraced the connection between Sara and Grissom and that their relationship will be explored more in the next season. I still think they should've killed off Nick Stokes.
