'24' - '4:00 AM - 5:00 AM' Recap

Jack Bauer may be the star of '24,' but this week it was Ladies' Night -- or maybe the expression should be Ladies' Hour in this case. Regardless, it was the fairer sex that did the ass-kicking and the ass-saving this week. More impressively, this was accomplished without a single appearance by President Allison Taylor.

Luckily, I'm far enough away that the EMP that took down CTU didn't impact my systems, though our regular reviewer, Mike Moody, didn't fare so well. While he works to recover his systems and get back online, I agreed to pinch-hit and see how CTU handled their own electronic crisis.

If last week's episode was the best episode of the season so far, this week just knocked it back to number two. I'll even forgive that we got one of the oldest and most tired '24' cliches ever in play again, because everything else was just so damned good!

Hot Video: '24' Interview with Mary Lynn Rajskub

"I work with computers. And I help Jack Bauer. That's what I do ... and you can't stop me from doing it."

Starting her fifth season playing computer genius Chloe O'Brien on '24,' Mary Lynn Rajskub is the woman behind Kiefer Sutherland's sleep-deprived, brooding, always on-the-move Jack Bauer.

Mary Lynn sat down with AOL TV to give us the exclusive scoop on season 7 (the two-night, four-hour premiere airs Sunday, Jan. 11 and Monday, Jan. 12 at 8PM ET on Fox), including which FBI agent can out-cranky her and how '24' influences world politics. Seriously. She also dished about her favorite shows, and why one of them would make a '24' time-traveling storyline worthwhile.

Watch and see what else Mary Lynn shared ...

24: 2:00am - 3:00am

24 - Buchanan(S05E20) Well, it looks like we're finally going to see if President Logan really is the cutthroat he appears to be when next week's action gets underway. We already know he doesn't have enough in him to be truthful to his wife all this time, but he most certainly has enough backbone to try and make himself look like the best thing since sliced bread, or at least David Palmer. As it turns out, Jack's foray into the baggage compartment wasn't as completely random as it seemed when he managed to subvert security last week. I find it a bit out of control that he managed to pop up through the floor when no one was walking by, but I guess we have to let a little bit of reality go when watching 24, huh.

As frustrating as Chloe's personality is to deal with, it's pretty clear that she will continue to be the woman in Jack's life that really keeps his clock ticking, even if she's not the one sleeping with him at the moment. It's also super apparent that she's either one of the more smart people I've ever come across on a television show, or she just gets a lot of credit for knowing which sockets to open.
