Backstage Interviews at 'Dancing With the Stars': Week One Was 'Terrifying'
by Michael Maloney, posted Mar 22nd 2011 9:00AM
Ralph Macchio, 49, and Kirstie Alley, 60, are two of the older contestants on season 12 of 'Dancing With the Stars,' but after the first night of dancing they took early leads with top scores of, respectively, 24 and 23.The star of 'The Karate Kid' and his pro partner, Karina Smirnoff, performed a Foxtrot that judge Len Goodman called the best one of the night.
Macchio's an actor; did that play a role in how successfully he embraced his part on the dance floor?
"Yes. Dancing is like acting only you use your body," said Smirnoff. "It allows him tap into the character so much better."
"[Acting] is less painful," joked Macchio. "Less painful."
'Dancing With the Stars' 2011: Season 12 Cast Announced
by Kelly Woo, posted Feb 28th 2011 10:12PM
The 'Dancing With the Stars' 2011 spring cast, announced Monday night during 'The Bachelor,' includes a talk show host, model, football star, '80s acting faves and Disney Channel starlet. So, all in all, it was a typical line-up for the popular ABC reality show. The rumors we reported earlier came true: 'Cheers' star Kirstie Alley and former Hugh Hefner girlfriend Kendra Wilkinson were both on the official roster. And while Tea Party candidate Christine O'Donnell didn't end up joining 'DWTS' (and neither did Joy Behar, despite our wish list), pro wrestler Chris Jericho and talk show host Wendy Williams will be among the celebrities shaking their hips.
Two of the bigger names on the cast are actors who broke out in the '80s -- Kirstie Alley and Ralph Macchio. Can the 'Cheers' star and the 'Karate Kid' have a shot at following in the foosteps of Jennifer Grey, who starred in the classic 'Dirty Dancing'?

Expensive Prizes Crashing to the Ground on 'Downfall' (VIDEO)
by Oliver Miller, posted Jun 23rd 2010 3:50AM
'Downfall' (Tue., 9PM ET on ABC) is the new game show that offers fabulous, fabulous prizes -- with one slight twist. If the contestants fail to answer the trivia questions on the show, then their prizes are thrown off the top of a building ... to crash on the ground below. On the premiere episode of the show, a young woman named Nicole does her best to answer host Chris Jericho's questions. She does well for a while -- winning a prize of $25,000. But then, things start to go wrong. And things start to get tossed off a 10-story roof.
Nicole loses a living room set, a car, and $50,000 dollars. All of these prizes move down a conveyor belt -- and then get smashed on the sidewalk. Sad! Nicole, if only you had been faster with your answers, then we wouldn't have to witness a new car being crushed in slow motion. Or watch thousands of dollars being tossed into the air. Oh well. She did her best.
Chris Jericho to Host ABC's 'Extreme' Game Show 'Downfall'
by Mike Moody, posted Jun 3rd 2010 11:20AM
Chris Jericho is going from tossing people out of the ring to hurling them off skyscrapers. The pro-wrestler has signed to host ABC's new game show 'Downfall,' in which contestants answer trivia questions on top of an L.A. high-rise. If they get the questions wrong, they risk seeing their winnings, personal possessions, and even their friends and family fly off the side of the building, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
An earlier report suggested that the players themselves could take the plunge off the rooftop if they fail to answer the questions correctly.
David Arquette, Chris Jericho Have Sing-off on 'Lopez Tonight' (VIDEO)
by Aimee Deeken, posted Mar 24th 2010 10:30AM
Due to some "bad blood" between David Arquette and Chris Jericho, George Lopez figured his show ('Lopez Tonight,' weeknights, 11PM ET on TBS) would be a good opportunity to "settle it the way men should settle their differences: karaoke."So WWE pro wrestler Chris (and lead singer of heavy metal band Fozzy) and David (dressed as a pro wrestler) competed with 'Total Eclipse of the Heart.' Neither did an amazing job, but at least they appear to have bonded during the chorus.
